We picked up two ribeyes last night from southern anchor. They were gorgeous. We seared them in cast iron and basted them with butter infused with garlic cloves and rosemary sprigs. Old school, but perfect. We didn’t take a picture of that, though. So, here’s the New Orleans Bbq shrimp we made earlier this year. Hands down the best whole gulf shrimp I’ve found locally. The tuna dip slaps, too. It’s such a convenient location and the staff are so nice.

Really great customer service and the best pork chops in town!! I don’t even eat pork like that, and I was kind of mad at my husband for bringing home pork chops one night. But then when I ate them, I was mind blown. They were so good. Of course, everything else is great there too. Sea food is always nice and fresh. Steaks are great. 10/10 highly recommend

Cody and his staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is fresh and top quality. The black grouper…Lawd it is divine! All seafood and meat we have purchased was extremely fresh and so delicious. If you ask Cody his favorite way to prepare and cook anything, he will share recipes! Also, if you haven’t tried his homemade pimento cheese and pasta salad, please do yourself a favor and pickup some the next time you are there. Overall, fantastic fresh market that we are so lucky to have here in Dothan!

If you’ve not picked up some seafood, steaks, pork chops, side dishes, lunch plates, or any other goodies in here, you’re truly missing out.

The owner, Cody, takes great care of his customers and only sells quality products. We follow his Facebook page where he posts the different foods he has available and any deals that may be going on.

We have never had a bad experience here. We will continue to support and recommend others buy from Southern Anchor Fresh Market. They are the BEST specialty grocery market in the Wiregrass with fair prices and owners that treat their customers like family.

Awesome fresh selection of meat and seafood! Owner was super friendly and very polite! I ended up going with a ribeye and the quality of their meat is way better than your local grocery store. I’d rather pay a little extra for good quality. Highly recommend trying if you have not! The owner also said if you want anything out of the ordinary, call a day before and place your order.

Awesome fresh seafood, meats and packaged dips. First time I went, there were fresh cooked crawfish, I mention my husband loves them, and Cody the owner boxed up a complimentary pound or so and wouldn’t take my money. Since then we’ve been hooked. Delicious daily lunch special, the meatball sub is my favorite. And he ships in authentic Gambino king cakes during Mardi Gras!
