We ventured in here on our recent trip to Mendocino, and what a treasure it was! We got a small assortment, and they happily agreed to our request to hold it for us while we wandered around town, since I didn't want them melting in the car. Their dark chocolate mint is the most perfect balance of chocolate, sweet and mintiness -- and I'm quite picky about all of the above! My daughter LOVED the milk chocolate caramel. We got some for our folks back home, but not nearly enough! My recommendation would be to buy and taste some right there, so you can stock up. Grateful for such a gem of a place!

I can't say how much I love this place! We stop in here every time we are in town and have for years. They make a great fudge - with or without nuts, the best peanut butter fudge, I love their divinity, and the white chocolate with fresh raspberry OMG!
They have a very nice variety.
The chocolate maker is definitely a master at his craft.
Jan who helps at the counter is always helpful and kind. She remembers me because I am always in there to get the peanut butter fudge to send to my daughter who lives in another state, and she will wrap it up nice for me.

Papa Bear's chocolates in Mendocino are a yearly tradition for me – their sweet treats are undeniably delightful! This year, however, I noticed the portions have gotten a bit smaller. While a bit disappointing, the incredible taste remains unchanged. Just be mindful that the price might not quite reflect the size you're getting anymore, especially if you're on a budget.

If you have a sweet tooth craving, then look no further. Local shop that makes all the chocolates and sweets onsite. They offer a good selection of choices in both milk and dark chocolate. Dark chocolate with sea salt is always a good choice if you like dark chocolate.

One thing that is cool to see is the tools of the trade. The shop has their pots and bowls on the wall.

This place was SO good! We even detoured two hours to pick up chocolate. The best chocolate is the raspberry bark. Fresh raspberries in white chocolate, so good. I tried a bunch of other chocolates too and none disappointed. Highly recommend going!

Amazing chocolate! Amazing service for the younger and very attentive staff. The older woman is just gruff and curt, that's fine with us. We go every time we come up this way. We look forward to it each time and always look up the times to make sure we can swing by. Unfortunately, the hours open have become very erratic. Google says they are open. The sign says they are open. Twice this trip a note on the door. It's so frustrating. If you say noon to 5pm. Be there! Two days in a row not open when it says it will be. Open late, close early is a very interesting business model for a town full of tourist and locals. Inconsistent and inconvenient. I miss your chocolates but how do a purchase them if you aren't open when you say you are.

This place was great right on the coast. So many yummy options. We decided to go for the orange slice covered in chocolate, the caramel chocolate bar, and a chocolate nut cluster. All of them were great. We ended up spending $12 totally worth it. Really would like to have gotten some honeycomb but they didn't have it. We took our candy and walked the coast Great experience would definitely come back here if in the area.

The smell is amzing. There for sure is better chocolate than here (e.g. in Switzerland) but I don't know one other place where you can get fresh raspberrys in white chocolate (tastes great). Only 4 stars because they are very expensive but it is OK for getting something special.
