Best groceries. All products are fresh, all produce, baked goods, ready made dinners, salad and ready made foods are great, smoked meat counters and meats are great. They are a bit pricey, but you can be sure you’re not going to waste a morsel. Friendly staff.

A well organized store with a large selection of premium items. The bakery section had quite a few mouthwatering desserts on display, and seemed very appetizing. Across the store at the salad bar the selection was freshly made with a large selection for those who are not meat eaters.

Overall I was very pleased with the amount of selection at a great value. Upon walking in the store you are greeted with a welcoming feel with all the employees being attentive and ready to assist or serve your needs.

Not my regular shopping locale due to price, but undeniably a high-end grocer and one of a very few larger such places in Santa Barbara. Cash & credit card payments accepted.

If you're looking for a bougie specialty or have to accommodate very special food allergies or limitations, this is a good place to check out. Great selection of very high-quality food & beverages. Local ingredients for some. Organic. Grass fed. Barium-chamber tested. You name it.

You'll also pay for it. And you'll pay a lot. It will be delicious, but be prepared.

One of the reasons I really appreciate Gelson's is their commitment to the Santa Barbara community. They're really willing to give people a chance at a first start or a fresh start, and that's a great reason to support this place with your business.

I am usually very pleased with the products I get from Gelson’s, however twice in 30 days I have been disappointed

Yesterday I ordered roast chicken via DoorDash it was not cooked, blood was visible immediately upon delivery and it was not browned at all- so whoever put this out to be sold should be fired.

Their tuna salad from the deli has been my favorite a very long time, it is very expensive but I used to say it was worth it . The order got two weeks ago did not taste fresh in fact it didn’t taste like the same tuna. I ended up throwing some of it out

Management needs to step up or perhaps a new manager is what’s needed

Gelson's is a terrific grocery store. I love that the cashiers are always so pleasant. I love the way the store is always nice and clean --- including the parking lot.

I've lived in Santa Barbara for 25 years. I could write a book about why this is the worst grocery store in town. It's filthy, prices are 35% to 50% higher than any other store in the area. And many of the employees are the laziest people on planet Earth.

I just asked the butcher to trim a tri-tip for me, he literally let out a big sigh and rolled his eyes. I literally just waited for 5 minutes as he was hamming it up with 2 other female employees, who by the way continued their conversation for another 20 minutes.

Another time I asked a kid in the deli for some chicken wings. He looked at me and apologized saying, no because you already put them away THEY WERE LITERALLY ON A RACK RIGHT BEHIND HIM WITHIN ARMS DISTANCE!!! Only when I ask for a manager, Did he conjure up the strength and desire to put a few pieces of chicken in a bag.

I'm telling you, this place is an absolute joke. Just look at the food stations. They are absolutely disgusting, nobody at this store wants to do anything other than absolutely price gouge everybody dumb enough to shop here.

In April, I wanted to throw a bagel brunch for the day after my son‘s wedding. I had recently moved to Santa Barbara, so I didn’t know where to begin. I went to Gelson’s and saw their amazing trays and decided to give them a shot. Monique, in the catering department was an amazing help. The bagels, lox and cream cheese with top notch. The Mediterranean trays were amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. We topped it off with the crudites and the fresh fruit platters. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend! Will definitely use them again!

Oh wow Gelson's has expanded into what use to be the neighboring bank. They have a larger wine and produce section that's in that new area and they have also put down nice new flooring! They use to be such a small store. With the addition it feels like a whole new store. The staff is always very friendly. I can't wait for the salad bar to be back as it's my favorite salad bar in town!
