Clean, comfortable with good lighting. Got a room on the second floor, the view is at the corridor outside the room which overlooks the parking area. Walls are thin so one can hear muffled conversation, toilet sounds, and the tv. Microwave and fridge were useful. About 8-10 minute walk to Milbrae Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Walgreens and an $8 Uber ride in the other direction to Shops at Tanforan (Marshall’s, Target, BJs sports bar). Good base at The Millwood to do all I needed to over the 2-night stay. $13 uber ride back to the airport; From the airport: took the BART to Milbrae ($5.50) then an $8 uber ride to hotel. I thought a $30 uber ride from airport too excessive for a solo traveler.

We traveled for work.
You get a beautiful, relatively newly remodeled room, with a comfortable firm bed.
Great value. Friendly staff.
Plus a lot of great spots to eat near by.

If you just need a place that's clean to lay your head before or after a flight at SFO (and you need to park a car), it's fine. I would say it's more of an "upscale motel" than the advertised "boutique hotel." They have definitely done a nice job renovating and updating the exterior grounds, but the rooms themselves are pretty basic. I chose a room that had an electric fireplace for a bit of ambiance, but it was underwhelming and I turned it off after a few minutes. The fitness center is more accurately a fitness room - very small, only a few machines, but it got the job done. The breakfast is pretty basic, but fine if you need to feed some kids before going to the airport. Overall, there was nothing *wrong* with it, but it also doesn't stand out in my mind as particularly memorable.

More than a hotel, it is a renovated motel, and I believe this should be mentioned upfront to manage expectations. There are constant lights outside, and you can hear the cars and late-arriving guests at the “hotel.” I was hoping to get some rest before my early morning flight, but unfortunately, this was not the right place if you’re looking for a restful stay. On the positive side, it is well-renovated and very accessible to the airport.

The Millwood is a small independent hotel in Milbrae, near the Airport and BART / Caltrain Station Milbrae. It looks like in the pictures, it's a nice small hotel with maybe 35 rooms.

It's a renovated Motel, turned into a Hotel- it's up to you to decide if this is okay for you or not- for me it was: It's not a Motel because it has some more comfort- of course it's not a Mariott- but i felt more comfortable and personal service here than in the chains.

By public transport you need 20minutes to Downtown SF, Parking in Milbrae Station costs 3$ per day.

I spend here 5 days and feel very comfortable. Clean, great rooms (newly furnished), friendly service and complementary breakfast make this hotel ideal for a trip to San Francisco or the Bay Area- eapecially if you've a car, as parking is free.

The rooms are nicely furnished and an A/C and heating, as well as fast Wifi are availavle. The hotel has a fitness room with state-of-the-art hardware, only thing i was missing an laundry room (this would have been awesome to wash clothes). Rooms has shades which blacks out everything, even the lights in the parking lot. During my visit i had two problems: One Night some very loud guests arrived and we're very noisy, the other problem was in the room- the sink did not let the water go- maintenance solved the problem.

Next to the hotel are small stores, Walgreens and Safeway are just around the corner.

Overall: I can really recommend this hotel.

The room is nice. Slept horribly from the noise upstairs. Couldn't sleep until midnight and woke up at 5am. Would have used ear plugs if it weren't for my alarm.

The room is spacious and appears updated but I was grossed out by all the hair all over the bathroom floors, walls, counter and shower. Not sure I trust the cleanliness if there’s such a significant amount of hair covering every surface of the bathroom. Also the bathroom fan didn’t work which was inconvenient. Calling the front desk was no help, and then the lady called our hotel room phone back at 11pm, waking us up, just to tell us the fam comes on automatically (which btw it did not, even after a very steamy shower). The bed was comfy and it has a good location so it’s a mix of positive and poor.

My husband and I stayed here for a night before flying out of SFO, and we had a great experience. Fantastic price, clean and cozy room, and very close to the airport. Will be staying again when we come back!
