It's a newer property but is already going downhill. The rooms are just simply dirty. We are staying there long term and after one week switched rooms twice. The very first room had an extremely loud heater so it was not possible to sleep. The second room was on the 3rd floor and we heard every step of the people above us starting from 5 am. The room was also extremely dusty that caused me an allergic reaction. Then we moved to the room on the 5th floor. The sink and the sink area were covered in hair from someone before us shaving there. So we decided to take cleaning wipes and go over all surfaces. After one pass the wipes became dark gray from all the dirt that never was cleaned. We ended up cleaning the entire room ourselves. And bringing an air purifier also helped. The hotel does not have air purifiers. We are also supposed to have cleaning services every other day. But they skipped cleaning several times in the past weeks. So we have to find a cleaning lady periodically just to replace towels. In all the rooms we were, the heating units are loud, the bathroom vent is loud, it is difficult to regulate shower water temperature. The bathroom sink is very splashy. The parking lot at night gets full close by and is not very safe as not hotel elements come to hang out and no security is seen around. The silverware at breakfast looks disgustingly dirty even though it was run through the dishwasher. Positive is close to Bart and if you like to watch planes take off or land there are nice spots. But if you drive keep in mind there is a lot of traffic in Millbrae.

The Residence Inn San Francisco Airport Millbrae offers the level of comfort and space you are looking for in this sort of accommodation in addition to being a short walk to the BART with easy travel to downtown San Francisco. The room was spacious, modern, comfortable with working space for two people. USB ports were spaced near the desk and the bed. The fitness center was sizeable with a nice array of equipment and weights. My schedule did not allow me to try the breakfast.||Disadvantage: if you have an early morning flight, you are not getting to SFO from the RISFAMS via BART.

While in the area on business this week, I decided to use a free night stay that I had earned with my Marriott BonVoy membership. ||The hotel is right next to the Millbrae BART station, and is the recommended method for getting to/from SFO. And, in fact, it is about the ONLY option as they don’t offer an airport shuttle (even though all the other airports nearby do, and you can see the airport from the hotel!) It’s easy to use BART, and cheaper than a ride-sharing service. But can be tricky if you’ve never travelled on BART. ||The rooms are beautiful, big, quiet and the kitchens are fully-equipped (great if you plan to cook or get food delivered). Which is about the ONLY option, as there aren’t many dining options close by, except for some fast-food/take-out restaurants. And the hotel’s only dining option is a breakfast buffet, which operates on a very limited schedule (I missed breakfast, as I’d worked late the night before)!||So if you don’t have a vehicle, you’ll need to get a ride-share to/from the hotel for a decent sit-down restaurant with table service.

Breakfast was great, and I generally had a good experience with the staff. The hotel is relatively new, and the rooms are in very good condition.||Some downsides:||No airport shuttle. It is very close to the Millbrae Caltrain/BART station, but it does mean that you need to either pay to take BART and take the short walk to/from the hotel, or pay for a ride to/from the airport. If you need to get to the airport very early, you will need to book a ride.||Coin-operated laundry. In a bizarre choice for such a new property, the only way to pay for laundry is with quarters. While there is a change machine in the laundry room, you still have to have cash to do laundry. The desk can't charge your account.||The nearest grocery stores are a bit of a distance away on El Camino Real. While delivery is available, if you prefer to pick your own produce, you're either going to have to hike through the train station and then several blocks more, or pay for rides.||Uneven housekeeping. You don't get your room done every day, so it's important that's done well when it is. I would get a different set of towels each time.| I found one time that they clearly didn't vacuum, and there were places in the room that look like they had never been cleaned. I found that the air conditioner was actually blowing dust into the room rather than filtering it out.|||Depending on the nature of your stay, these issues will have varying bearings on your choice. I have stayed at a number of the hotels near SFO, and this really is the best one that I have experienced so far.

We spent one night at this new hotel very close to SFO airport. The room was spotless and the A/C worked well. Breakfast was fresh and varied. ||We were originally concerned about the lack of an airport shuttle, however it was quite easy to take the SamTrans city bus 292 from SFO to the Millbrae Transit Center (10 minutes and 2.25 each way). The hotel is a short walk from the Millbrae station which made it easy to explore the city by light rail the following day after checking out and storing our luggage before returning to the airport for an evening flight.||We will definitely be back to this hotel when in the SF area.

Really loved staying here, 5 min walk to the Bart station for all of my travel needs, hotel was very quiet, great and friendly staff. Bonus points for the large gym (comparatively to other hotels) The restaurants I walked to all with in 15 min walks were really great. Will definitely stay here again.

It's a nice, clean, quiet hotel, but the fact they don't have a free shuttle to the airport makes them, in my view, not a great choice if you are staying here for a layover or as an airport traveler. I booked pretty last minute but would not choose them again if I was to do it over for this reason. Nearly every other hotel in the area (including those at a cheaper price point) has a shuttle. Being a 5 minute drive from the airport is a bit pointless if you have to call a 30 dollar Uber to get there...

They are close to the BART, but that's not an option for late night/early morning flights and it's also not as feasible to use with lots of luggage.

Anyway everything else about it is nice but I just think not having a free shuttle is a massive oversight. I've never stayed in a hotel this close to the airport without one.

Wonderful experience! Staff is very attentive and kind. Received also an update to a single bedroom suite. A welcome gift is also given in addition to 1,000 extra points. Missed breakfast as it ended at 9:30am on Saturday, so can’t comment on food. Very close to SFO airport. Overall recommended!
