This is the next best thing if you are not able to go to the actual Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco . They have a variety of choices and the staff is friendly always offering samples . They always have the current occasion in stock for example Fourth of July the store was filled with Stars and Stripes items!

(Updated) Very good pricing on packaged squares, not so much on the baking products anymore. Cans of cocoa powder went from ~$12 pre-covid to about $19 today. Not quite retail price but I can get it for similar pricing near me (Chef's Store, Smart & Final) w/o having to drive to Milpitas.

We were Ray's last customers and he was very personable and great to talk to. He offered suggestions, recommendations, and showed us where we could find specific things. I wish him the best.
You get a free chocolate when you come into the store. The staff are helpful. They also sell square buttons near the register that imitate the chocolate squares. I got a 92% cocoa button.
