We got fresh cantaloupe, tomatoes, n other veggies. Besides, it was fun to see cactus plants for good luck. Rosted peanut and bread verities were good. Car parking was comfortable. Rates were suitable to pocket.

Located across street from Milpitas Great Mall, it is opened every Sunday rain or shine from 8am to 1pm. Vendors sell mostly farming produces like veggies, roots, fruits. Others like honey, decorative plants, bakery products, dried fruits, nuts, seafoods, ready-to-eat pop corn, meat skewers, etc. Plenty of parking spaces.

It’s near Great mall, so no parking issues. However it’s a lot smaller and not many stores to choose from in comparison to Sunnyvale one. Also the variety of fruits and vegetables is limited which could be dependent on season and time of the year. It does have a French bakery stall and I recommend trying the pita chips from Brothers Products stall. But you’ll definitely get basics like egg, milk and veggies.

My go to and favorite market for the last 10 years has been the Mountain View Farmers' Market. If I have plans on Sundays, I choose to go to the Sunnyvale's on Saturdays. I wanted to see how Milpitas Farmers' Market compares to the two and if it could cover our necessities as well. I must say I was surprised to see the number of vendors although it is not as big and varied as the MV's. I was also hoping to find more certified organic products, but that is not so. Still, it is a viable option if you do not want to buy waxed apples, cucumbers, zucchinis, or vegies that sit spoiled and moldy on the grocery store shelves.

The highlight of my visit to this market today was freshly caught mackerel and sardines from Monterey Bay ($4/ lbs each), which I gutted myself; no big deal, I am used to it. They also had a type of huge rockfish, which the vendor said they would clean.

There are ready to eat food vendors, two or three bakery vendors as well. There is a lady who sells eggs, too; I think she sells at the MV as well.

Although I arrived way too late, the vendors still had plenty of produce to sell.

I am grateful to be living in a farming state and having options and access to many farmers' markets around us. Thanks to all who make the markets possible during Rain or Shine or Storm!

This market is year-round. It's slower in the winter but very lively in Spring and Summer. It's a great place to get reasonably priced fresh fruit & vegetables (>5 stalls), eggs (1 stall), fish (1), bread (1), honey (1), and fresh flowers/orchard. There are no meat or dairy here. As of March 2017, there are a couple of food trucks starting to show up as well, in addition to a coffee vendor. And best of all, there is almost always live music.

Tip: It's located near the MacDonald's. Great Mall gets busy after 11AM, so come before that to avoid the crowd and parking headaches.
