It’s a really special place to spend a few days. There’s nothing better IMHO than NorCal beaches in winter. The access to the ocean can’t be beat, the sunsets were awesome and I spent considerable time just listening to the surf. The accommodations are lovely; our room was well located, well appointed and the bed was very comfortable. Service was excellent and the included breakfast is just right; that it’s delivered to your room is a bonus.

The staff is so friendly. Our evening host, Reg, serves up great hors oeuvres at the nightly wine reception from 5pm to 7 pm, then at 7:30 pm desert, usually warm cookies arrive! He's very knowledgeable, so always feel free to converse with him. Our daytime crew serves a fabulous breakfast in our room. We enjoy staying in the main house. From our balcony, we watch the surf, surfers, dolphins, people walking & walking their dogs.

This was a wonderful place. ||The room came with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. ||The room was exceptional, the bed was comfortable, and the ocean views were amazing! ||Breakfast was served each morning on time, and it was delicious, and there was a wine, cheese, and dessert bar each evening.||The only drawback (and it is not enough to not give them 5 rating) was the outdated TV. They really need to upgrade to TVs that allow you to stream shows. That is the norm these days. ||We had to watch netflix on our small device, because of the old TV set in the room.

Amazing! We got way more than we expected. Stayed in the point Montara room because we wanted a spa tub. We didn't know that there were free complimentary breakfast delivered to your room, free steel water bottles, free wine and cheese platters. This will definitely be our go to stay in half moon bay

Fantastic getaway for a couple! It was a surprise visit for my wife, who was struck by the ocean view from the room. The small road below the balcony was no impediment to our lovely view as we had or delicious complementary breakfasts. ||||Reg at the front was helpful, kind, and witty! However be warned: front desk and cleaning have relatively limited hours compared to a hotel! Had to eat takeout with our fingers when we got back from a concert post-10pm, we couldn’t figure out the AC one night, and we missed our 11-4pm cleaning window by a couple minutes one day. ||||Luckily, that was a minor inconvenience for a peaceful and rejuvenating stay. Would absolutely come back!

Our stay at Cypress in specifically in Room 15 (Pigeon Point), was absolutely outstanding! From the moment we arrived, we were treated to exceptional customer service that made us feel truly special. This small, 18-room hotel offers a level of intimacy and care that’s hard to find. We loved the nightly happy hour, complete with a variety of fine cheeses and wine, and every evening at exactly 7:20 PM, warm chocolate chip cookies were placed in the lobby making it feel like warm and cozy.

Each morning, breakfast was delivered to our room, featuring chef specials that were simply delicious. One day we enjoyed pancakes, and the next we were spoiled with a crab Benedict loaded with bacon, paired with a carafe of hot coffee.

Room 15, Pigeon Point, was perfect for a peaceful, oceanfront retreat. We spent hours on our cozy balcony watching the waves, bikers, fishermen, and dogs playing on the nearby paths. The location was also ideal, with a great restaurant just a short walk away.

The room itself was clean, quiet, and beautifully appointed. The gas fireplace was heavenly, and falling asleep to the sound of the ocean was incredibly relaxing. We could even sit on the couch and enjoy direct views of the ocean—a rare treat!

Cypress exceeded all of our expectations, delivering first-class treatment throughout our stay. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a serene, oceanfront getaway. Room 15, Pigeon Point, was truly a gem! Our experience was well worth the expense!

This is my third stay at The Cypress Inn. I love staying here. It's a wonderful place to stay. I make a whole adventure out of it. I enjoy seeing a jazz concert at the Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. I have been to The Bach about 8 times and I have never seen a bad show. It is one of the best venues to see a concert. It's small, intimate and right on the beach. You can walk to The Bach from the Cypress Inn, and enjoy a fabulous concert. Afterwards, you can walk to the Miramar Beach Restaurant for dinner, and then walk back to the Cypress Inn. Everything is on the same road and a very easy walk. Once back at the Cypress Inn, you can enjoy a relaxing shower, enjoy the cozy room, gas lit fireplace and the sound of the ocean waves. After a great night's sleep, you will enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast meal with great coffee delivered to your room, overlooking the ocean. The Cypress Inn is a great place to stay in Half Moon Bay. For a special event, treat yourself. It will make you feel like the magnificent & fabulous person you are. Life is short. Buy the shoes, use your best china, enjoy life!

Incredible views and amazing rooms. Can't beat this place! Breakfast in bed as well! We went for an anniversary trip without the three-year-old and it felt like a true getaway. ||||Highly recommend heading just down the road to Hangetsu Sushi as well even if you're not a sushi fan; their non-fish dishes are fantastic as well.
