My wife wanted us to stop by here because we were next door eating at Rudy. She came in here and saw that they had a Mexican water drink. This place is right across the street from the hotel we were staying at. The plaza that this store is at doesn't have a lot of parking spots so be aware of that. They had some good selections of meat but we didn't purchase anything beside my wife drink.

Malicious business owner.
I was having a bite at Rudy’s which shares a parking lot with EL Ray. Afterwards, I went for a quick drink across the street at Rodeos. Before I even got my drink I was told my car was being towed. The owner of Mercado El Rey, Javier, has the towing company on speed dial and had them there as soon as I stepped foot off the parking lot. I have never expended anything like this before. The parking lot was or actually empty. Didn’t even know you can’t leave the premise after buying something to void the “customer” relationship. Very surprised! Very disappointed!

We saw the ice cream sign so went here after dinner while staying in Santa Barbara. I gave my daughter $20 to buy a treat and she picked out a fruit cup and brought me $7 in change. These jokers were charging $12.99 for a cup of fruit. Obviously taking advantage of tourists. I walked it back in a asked about the price in Spanish; the manager came and refunded my money without a word. Maybe they have great stuff and are awesome, but we felt ripped off.

Paid 11 dollars for a ice cream cone with a SINGLE SCOOP. I would not recommend coming to this store.

Cannot say enough good things about this little market! Terrific meat department where you can find very affordable marinated meats and such. Plus their ice cream section is terrific! It is a perfect place for locals and for tourists alike (if they could ever find it.)
I love this place!

This is probably my favorite place to get ice cream in Santa Barbara, they have handmade bars for a very reasonable price, but I prefer to get it scooped into a cup, which is a little bit more, but soooo worth it.
