While I was there, I found the perfect pair of 2 carat lab diamond stud earrings for my eldest daughter. Lab diamonds seem to be in trend now among the millennial crowd, and Karen helped me weigh the pros and cons, saving me money. My daughter absolutely adores them. Absolute butcher. Watch batteries...I'm sure that's fine. But, a "jeweler?" No. This is long overdue, but 8 or so years ago Jeremy butchered my grandfather's 1944 Swiss watch - which worked perfectly. My mother unwittingly brought it in for some service, which she thought would be a surprise for me. He took it upon himself to replace the Swiss mechanical movement with the cheapest quartz movement you could imagine. He broke apart the dial, the pushers, took the movement and hands (which he did not return), and filled the case with globs of hot glue. What respectable jeweler would ever do that? I write this as I close the books on a $6000 job restoring the watch! It's not perfect...the butchery was far too extensive. But, it's okay. The watchmaker who I've worked with was almost as sick as I was to see the insides. "Un@$#&ing believable," were his words. Oh, and at the same time she brought him a pair of earrings to "remake" for my wife. Hahaha. Just blobs of solder and weakly set stones that hung crooked, and that we immediately had remade by an actual craftsman. Anyway, it was time for the world to hear this. Ymmv though. Choose carefully.

Yesterday Monday May 7th I went into get a new stretch watch band for my watch since my old one was "sprung" and too loose. They had a good selection of watch bands that would fit my watch. In less than 10 minutes I walked out with my watch fitting perfectly- no fuss, easy! They are very accommodating. It was $42.76. I could have driven 30 -40 minutes to the Sun Valley mall to do the same thing for maybe less money, but this was a huge time saver and worth it! Thanks Karen and Jeremy from Pat Thompson.

HORRIBLE SERVICE & OVERPRICED

Walked into the shop to get a new watch battery for my brand new watch. Simple job right? Apparently not. The repairman spent nearly 20 minutes fiddling around with the watch and could not seem to get the back casing to stay on. He then told me to come back the next day to pick up the watch and was apprehensive in letting me see the watch before I agreed. He finally gave it back and I noticed it was scratched. He said that it's part of the procedure to scratch the watch when opening the cover. I disagreed and then he and the other shop owner began to argue with me. He asked me what my ethnicity was and then scoffed as if my racial group were incompetent. He claimed that I was too young to be arguing and that my parents are probably disappointed in how I was behaving. Bottom line, TERRIBLE SERVICE, RACIST, INCOMPETENT.

I have been going to Moraga Jewlers over 10 years for jewelry repairs, watch repairs, battery replacement and various other services. The owners Jeremy and Karen are so welcoming and friendly. It is a real small town shop where you know the owners , who are trustworthy and fair. More importantly, they are excellent jewlers who provide superior care and repair to every item I have provided them . I highly recommended Moraga Jewlers!

Replaced a rare watch battery, service was fast and polite, and watch clock reset. Not cheap but not expensive either — $13.
