Great experience. Location is perfect for shopping and access to the beach. It's an older hotel so dated but well maintained and clean. It was quiet and relaxing. Pool is heated.

Pros: cleanish, although bathroom had faint Clorox and urine smell, great location in Montecito where others charge much more; close to Pavilions /Safeway grocery store; have real glasses and cups, great comfortable beds.|Cons: close to loud bar, rooms slightly mildewy smelling, old property, furnishing from the Nixon administration, can’t change rooms once booked. Rooms are extremely small, carpet dirty, windows very old, drapes very old and dated, bathroom very small, shower pressure slow to medium.|Rooms overlooking pool have slight ocean view but are never available.|Charges parking fees, but off street parking is available.

As a former Disney operations person at Disneyland, I have a unique perspective on the Coast Village Inn. Some sites label the Coast Village inn as a two star-three star property. No one, so far anyway, has said much about the office, maintenance and housekeeping staff at the hotel. I had multiple interactions with each department. Each experience was positive. Every staff member is on the same page. I stayed in a studio, #35 for almost two weeks. The studio was clean and roomy. If I needed something, I’d call the office and it was handled in minutes.

The Coast Village Inn may be a three star property. The service level from everyone is absolutely Five Star. My long stay coincided with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. The location of the hotel was perfect, so perfect that all I had to do to get to the film festival was walk to the bus stop in front of the hotel. The #20 dropped me a block and a half from the Arlington Theater. I took the 10:00 PM #20 to get back to the hotel. The return stop was a block and a half away.

There’s more. My family has been a JPMorgan client for 70+ years. Guess what was across the street from the Coast Village Inn? Yes, a JPM Private Client branch. During the last week of my stay, I needed something that necessitated a visit to the branch. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by one of the nicest, most professional individuals I’ve ever met. He took care of everything in minutes. At the end of my short visit, I learned that the person who initially greeted me was Gustavo Hernandez, Vice President and Branch Manager. What a terrific person and ideal manager Gustavo is.

Final thoughts

Coast Village Road reminds me of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The restaurants are top tier. If you live in Westwood, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, or Bel Air, stay on Coast Village Road. Book a studio at the Coast Village Inn and enjoy the experience.

Wow what a beautiful place. It’s like they took a motel from the 80’s and made it a classy Air B&B. Amazing rooms, friendly staff. Pool is awesome. Surrounding area has wonderful dining options within a walking distance. Go here now! Oh and the price is unbeatable.

A very pleasant, good value place to stay. Well appointed and clean rooms, if a little small by US standards, especially the shower room (which might have been improved by the simple addition of an extra towel rail on the end wall above the toilet). Experienced some wifi connection issues throughout our stay and, even when it was connected, it was very slow (low single digit Mbps at best), and my wife would have appreciated some decaf coffee pods. We had bought food for breakfast from a supermarket and it was nice to be able to eat outdoors at the tables and chairs located close to our room.

The room had a nice ambiance, and though it wasn't the most budget-friendly option, it offered relative affordability in comparison to certain neighboring establishments. My room afforded a delightful ocean view, and the bed provided a restful night's sleep. The pool maintained a comfortable temperature, and the overall cleanliness was impeccable. Our room was pleasant, equipped with standard amenities, albeit without air conditioning. However, the ceiling fan did a commendable job of cooling the room when the door and window were briefly left open. The staff were exceptionally amiable, and there was ample parking available. Numerous dining options were conveniently situated in the vicinity. If you get a chance go to Oliver’s. Excellent vegetarian food with a very cool vibe and music. Saw Chris from the Sopranos there. All in all, it was a delightful stay at this hotel.

we stayed one night on our road trip. The room is not modern but nice, shame about the carpet. Convenient parking, nice location.

The room was great for the price. All the office staff we had interaction with was nice. We had a 2 queen bed room that had plenty of space for 3 of us (2 adults, 1 toddler) and our bags. The location was nice. A quick commute to the zoo and eating places. There were a few places that looked great across the street that we would have gone to if we didn't have our daughter with us (not quite kid friendly). We weren't able to use the pool due to our short stay but it looked really well kept. You could open the windows which was nice since the weather was great and AC can make the air too dry.

The one thing that I would have to say was a negative was the size of some parking spaces. My husband drives a Ram truck with a full bed and we were only comfortable parking in a few of the spots without worrying that we would be hit by someone. However if you have a regular car or small SUV you wouldn't have any issues. The other negative would be the size of the bathroom. It is small but at least clean and provided all of the toiletries plus a few more.
