We visited Groggy Scallywag Coffee House bright and early, arriving just as they opened, and we were pleasantly surprised by the experience.

I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate, and it was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and made with milk instead of water, which is exactly how it should be. It’s not often you find places that get it so right! My wife went with her usual—a latte. Her only critique was that she wished it had been a touch hotter, but otherwise, she thoroughly enjoyed it.

The overall atmosphere and service were great, and we left with smiles on our faces. This is definitely a spot we’ll revisit on our next trip.

Sweet tiny coffee shop, espresso inns ceramic. Public restrooms around the corner. Limited space, but easy to find.

Please do yourself a favor and try out this coffee shop! I have tried the vanilla lavender latte and the salted caramel dirty chai and both were SO good! Just went back twice in the same day. The coffee its self is so good and the way the beverages are crafted is perfect. I love the flavorful layer of foam on top of the hot beverages - honestly already thinking how sad I’m going to be once my Morro Bay trips are ends and I won’t have access to this coffee shop anymore.

10/10 must try.

The atmosphere was very chill and low key, me and my girlfriend will definitely be coming back every time we do a beach trip. The customer service was incredible and so were the drinks and merch. We had to come back for another coffee before we left it was that good. Words don’t do this coffee house justice and we are always happy to support a local entrepreneur. 10/10 can’t recommend enough plz do yourself a favor and check it out!

Super awesome people, the guy was really friendly and genuine. Loved his jokes too! Also sold beautiful jewelry with a cool backstory, when we are back in the area we’ll be getting our coffee here!

I was visiting Morro Bay and noticed this cute little coffee shop that had just opened up. I was told they only opened a couple weeks ago and I hope it remains that way. I had a caramel macchiato (add Lavender) and can confidently say that was the best coffee I’ve had. I’m hoping to return in a few weeks and this spot is definitely on my visit list.
