I have been to Rose Market since they were on the other side of Castro. Each visit has been consistently flavorful, fresh and the service, outstanding! I highly recommend the giant koobideh meatball (It was a Monday special). It will serve a small village for days! Moist and full of flavor. I also tried a chicken dish with a slightly sweet flavor from pomegranate. The chicken was moist and the gravy, very flavorful. From the grill, the chicken thigh kabob was excellent. With more than one grill item. you will get a bag of bread and a big bag of cilantro and onion. Very good value. Excellent quality.

This store carries a wide selection of Iranian and Middle Eastern groceries, making it a convenient place to find specialty items. The dishes prepared in the kitchen are reasonably priced, with fresh and delicious options like stews, chicken, and shank. However, some dishes, such as Kotlet, Salad Olivieh, and Halim, are kept in the refrigerator for too long, causing them to lose their freshness and develop an unpleasant odor. Additionally, I once observed a kitchen staff member leaving the restroom without washing his hands and still wearing his gloves, which raised concerns about hygiene practices.

You can get a delicious hot meal here for a great price, particularly the daily specials. They have kebabs, sandwiches/wraps, rice plates, and other mezzes. The daily special when I went was Loubia Polo. I ordered it for $8 and it was a huge rice plate that was good for two meals for me. You can get a kebab for as little as $5-6 and it will come with lavash bread, parsley, and onions to make your own kebab wrap.

You go inside to order food - the outside window is only for grill order pickups. Sandwiches/wraps, rice plates, and mezzes are ordered and picked up at the deli counter. Kebabs and other grill items are ordered at the register; you receive a number and then pick up your order from the outside window when your number is called.

Outdoor seating: There are a few tables on the sidewalk in front of Rose International Market and its neighboring business, Mr. Sun Tea. The tables in front of Rose International Market get a little bit of shade from trees, while the ones by Mr. Sun Tea are sheltered by the building roof. In addition, there is bench seating in front of Mr. Sun Tea and also around the corner, along Castro Street.

I often shop at this market and usually buy a lot of things, but I had a very disappointing experience once.once, I accidentally dropped a box of yogurts I was holding. I immediately informed the staff and asked them to clean it up. However, instead of handling the situation politely, they were extremely rude. Not only did they charge me twice, but they also didn’t provide the other half of the item I had purchased, they also were so mad and looking me with angered face.

In many other places, situations like this are handled with understanding and courtesy, and customers are not charged or treated poorly. Unfortunately, this was not the case here. Additionally, their prices are already much higher than other stores, but their staff’s behavior is shockingly unprofessional and unkind. This kind of attitude makes shopping here an unpleasant experience despite their product selection.

This review is for the Fesenjan ready to eat dish. I got their smallest container for which I paid $7.37, but when I opened it at home I saw 3️⃣ pieces 2x2 inches and the rest was the sauce.
The price is unreasonably high for what I got. If they’d fill that small container with more pieces of chicken, perhaps it wouldn’t be so disappointing. I’m not going to drink the sauce.
The Fesenjan was very tasty as I tried it for the first time, but I won’t be buying more. Overall prices in the store are kind of high in comparison to trader joe for example.

As a customer, I understand the need to account for high-quality ingredients and the labor involved in preparing menu items. However, in this particular case, the small portion of just 3 chicken pieces, even with the specialty sauce, did not quite align with the pricing. P.S not everyone wants to eat this with the rice.

I came here and ordered two separate chicken dishes. One was spicy for me and the other was not for my child. They combined both the chickens in the same dish. The two chickens looked exactly alike. When I asked them, which dish was which even they couldn’t tell. They said they combine all their dishes all the time. They seem surprised that I wanted the two dishes separated and told me that if I wanted it that way, I should’ve asked for the dishes to be separated. Really? When you go to other restaurants and you order two dishes, they usually come in two separate containers rather than mixing all of it in one container. Total gaslighting when I asked about it too. You would think for a $35 I would get better food and better service. too bad, I would’ve been a loyal customer since I live so close.! All they could say was” Oh, they do look similar don’t they?” Look at the picture what do you think?

Nice small grocery store. Definitely no Safeway or whole foods though. Decent for if you're in a pinch and need something small.

For a spanking new market this is the as best as it can get. Food is specifically to-go, but there's seating outside. Notice the bricks on the sidewalk make clinking sounds. Order inside, pick up outside. Well portioned grilled meats are incredibly tender and savory; lamb chops, chicken tandoori, New York beef are juicy, flavorful, tender; this will involve napkins. Ask for side of sumac. Vegetable assortment to-go basically serves one person, so order extra. Flavored rice is more tasty than plain basmati. Produce seem to be reasonably priced and fresh. Parking lot has very narrow entry and exit, be careful.
