I have stayed at Harbor House twice, and each visit exceeded my expectations. This is one of the best value stays I have ever booked, and the people and location are treasured bonuses. Close to all the wants and also a market for the needs. The partial ocean view rooms offer gorgeous sights and lovely sun. The downstairs rooms have really nice picnic tables in a fenced and semi-private area. Both rooms I stayed in were clean, and the housekeeping services were nicely personalized. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good value and pet-friendly accommodation.

My wife and I stayed at Harbor House Inn for two nights during our west coast road trip in February 2025. It was clean and comfortable, and we’d definitely stay here again.

We had a friendly welcome, and had paid for a sea view room. We were given room 210 on the second floor. There was a sea view, but it was a little distant.

We parked our car right outside/below the room. It was free.

Easy stroll into town. There is a shop / off-licence right next door; they have a great selection of beers!

We stayed in a deluxe king room with ocean view at the Harbor House Inn for 1-night in late Dec ($120). The harbor House is a typical roadside motel with 2 2-storey buildings separated by the interior parking area. Our room was large, with a comfortable king bed, glass-fronted refrigerator, and a small balcony with an obstructed view of Morro Rock 3 blocks away over the roofs of other buildings. The shower was fine, with instant hot water. The room was clean and well maintained, but somewhat dated. Overall, quiet and comfortable for an overnight stop but nothing special. Good value for the price.

Just spent three nights at Harbor House Inn and was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable our stay was. We planned to spend most of our time outside of the room so price was more important than amenities. The room was spacious with wood floors which my husband and I appreciated as it adds to the cleanliness. Ground floor room had a small private patio and although it was too cold to sit outside, we did open the sliding door for fresh ocean breeze and to listen to the seals bark. It is located approximately three blocks from the main shops and restaurants so very walkable. Although this establishment is not flush with amenities, the free wi-fi, comfortable bed and their communications through text made this a wonderful experience. Also, this inn is pet friendly as we saw many with animals and a dog washing station.

Clean, comfortable, walkable ... wonderful (besides the couple in the room next to us who was enjoying themselves for hours way too loud and past midnight which was not the management's fault since we chose not to make that phone call to get them involved).
A big Thank you to PAULA & ROSS who delivered outstanding customer service!

I love this place, they are pet friendly which is a big plus for our big boy grim. We stay in the same room for our two stays so far. Rooms are clean. The room we get is big enough for 3 adults, one of which is very handicapped by ways of a wheelchair chair with partial paralysis, and a very big dog . I only wish they had an elevator so we could enjoy the second floor which I’ve read has a beautiful view of morro rock and sunsets.

Visited Valentine’s Day weekend, and while the pricing was expectedly higher than normal, it was more reasonable than most places.

From outside, one might mistake this hotel as basic, but having stayed in many hotels, basic doesn’t have the same definition as it once did. Basic now seems to imply the bare minimum. That’s not the case at Harbor House. The king bed room we stayed in was small, but very clean, which is important when having a one year old crawling around the room.

Positives: outlets near the bed that have USB plugs available. The shower head is about 5’10” off the ground with an adjustable head, which is so important for those of us 6’ tall and above. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers are high enough on the shower wall to keep our four year old toddler from emptying them - something that has been a challenge at home. The tv had a multitude of channels available. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and shops. The staff was extremely personable. The hotel has a 10pm ‘quiet’ time. We were in the first floor and above us was a group of high school kids that were very loud, jumping and bouncing about. Soon after 10pm, that all stopped, thankfully. They do offer a larger mini fridge than most hotels. They have the first microwave I have ever seen with built in electrical outlets. They have a lie rig style coffee maker, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board all available.
