We went for a friends afternoon here- 5 of us. We looked over the information on the website and it said drop in. We checked in and were told to come back in an hour. It was a good day so we walked around in downtown Mountain View and came back. Our table was set with the materials needed. The process took about an hour the biggest challenge is deciding the scent you want for your candle. There were a few choices of the candle holders/jars, but they were all pretty standard 12 ounce containers. The process itself is pretty simple and you are guided pretty skillfully through the process. There’s a flat fee that comes to $60 with tax, etc for one candle- for those who think this is steep, you are paying not just for the candle but for the space and the expertise of the person teaching you . We liked the process of candle making- and learned something about candles… for example did you know that to avoid the ugly striating on top of your candle you actually have to burn it for the number of hours that corresponds with the diameter of the candle the first time you light the candle There are also some cute decorations for the top of your candle, multiple wax, trinkets, dried flowers, etc. you can check out their Instagram page for some images of the finished product. This place has a restroom. We asked for water, but apparently they don’t carry any water- either for sale or complimentary. So make sure you take your water bottle. WE felt the owner could have been a bit warmer towards us, but that’s just our opinion.

Amazing Jacqui, while learning the delicate art of candle-making I got to bond with my teenage niece. In such a beautiful studio space, with such fragrant offerings. We even made friends with a nice couple making candles as gifts for loved ones. I would recommend this to anyone creative who wants to have quality time and create something with a personal touch.

My niece's review: ‘I had such a fun time! The candles smell great and the service was amazing! It was such a quaint place and helped me relax instantly.’

God bless you, Jacqui. Thanks for sharing your story as a business-owner, thriving despite the pandemic.

I went here for a company event and I have to say what a wholesome experience! The options that they have available from the containers, scents and petals are so unique and stunning. This experience was something I’ve never done before but the instructor was so insightful and attentive that I felt like it wasn’t my first time. This is definitely a spot for anyone trying to have a unique date, gathering or team event.

My team and I had so much fun making candles at Mountain View Candle Company! The materials are very high quality and we loved being able to mix our own scents. The store is about a 10 minute walk from downtown Mountain View so we got to enjoy dinner and drinks while our candles dried. Overall a wonderful experience!

The candle making experience was really fun and our candles have a really nice scent! My partner and I both felt pretty rushed through the whole process- From choosing our scents, to the decoration. There was a large party after us that was definitely the priority for the employees which in turn made our experience feel rushed and kind of stressful. We were asked to leave before our candle dried and on the way home, the way home our designs unfortunately were ruined even after following directions and handling the candles with great care. Would still recommend, but the experience could use some more thought.

Beautiful candle shop and maker space. The owner is very kind and welcoming. They have a wonderful selection of candles as well as soaps. I signed up for the maker experience and it was incredible. There are many scents to choose from and they all smell lovely. I ended up making a bamboo and lavender scented candle. The jars are gorgeous too. I learned a lot about the candle making process and had a very fun time. I highly recommend checking out this Mountain View gem.

Very uninspiring and overpriced class. The $55 ‘class’ was a limited affair - choosing a jar, choose a fragrance and pour some wax into it. That’s it.

So much fun! I went with a friend. There’s a great selection of containers and good scents. When the candle is dry, you have the option to decorate the top with flowers. Really nice easy day out. Will definitely be going back.
