With the 100% guarantee, I had hoped for a better experience. The large glass display cabinet arrived 2 days past the scheduled delivery date. We paid extra for 'assembled' thinking we were getting a ready-to-use piece. It was delivered on a wooden base wrapped in plastic. The general shell was intact yet glass sliding doors, shelving and all hardware came in multiple boxes for us to assemble. Instructions were partly missing. Glass sliding doors were not something we planned on installing.

Joseph, in customer service, was apologetic and polite. Natasha was not. She tried to redefine what an 'assembled' product meant and would not acknowledge that our cabinet arrived two days after their scheduled day.

If you buy from them, get every detail in writing (delivery, condition,...). Beyond disappointed and would not purchase from them again.

This place is a gift to have nearby! Large inventory in stock, not having to wait or pay shipping costs was amazing. The young woman in the showroom was also very helpful and exactly the kind of employee a business owner can be proud of. Although I GREATLY appreciate not having the pushy sales vibe trying to earn commissions and squeeze every dollar out of customers, the only area I saw for improvement would be upselling can actually be a good thing. I bought portable display cases and forgot to buy the protective bags! That’s 100% my fault, but a soft, “we also have fitted bags for these cases to protect them from scratches” is a win-win for the business and customer (educating me on a beneficial accessory in case I wasn’t aware of it and saving me an hour trip coming back). But again, I don’t mean that as a negative experience at all. It’s simply the only area I saw for improvement, so this is a great business!

I've been here lots of time and today as well. Clearly I can say employees are really nice and helpful✔ I haven't gotten problem✔ If you are looking some stuff kind off for business like shelves slatwall display etc. This is the best location I think. We couldn't find any another location in Chicago to buy some stuff like that✅👍

I've had a few bad experiences with Specialty Store Supplies, and I avoided buying from them for years. Last year, I figured I'd give them another try, but they have not improved.

Last month, I placed an order on their website to pick up at the Des Plaines warehouse. They charged my card, but I wasn't able to select pickup or shipping options. I called, and Natasha with customer service seemed confused and couldn't pull up my order. I ended up having to go in person them wait while the order was picked even though I placed it online in advance.

Today, I tried to place an order on their website, but there is still no local pick up option. I messaged them and called, but Natasha was not helpful. They seem incredibly disorganized, and they're using an ancient point of sale Thai isn't doing them any favors.

I would prefer to shop local, but (as you can see from the other reviews) Specialty Store Services is not so good...

Ordered on line asked when I wanted to pickup I stated the date and now have been waiting for over 2 hours to get my pickup this is horrible. No one except the front counter lady seemed to care and she seemed a bit stressed. If your time is valuable to you look elsewhere. Disclaimer I have bought twice the first time 5-7 years ago it was a very good experience. This time not so much. Update Company reached reached out to me Was very nice said they were going to check into it and I appreciate it that I'm even calling back

These guys are very good with getting your order to you! but Good Lord help you if you need a refund! I am a business owner and know how things are during COVID-19! I had to call many times for my credit and to this day still not resolved! I returned the item to them in a timely manner and have a tracking ID from ups which shows it is delivered to them. it has been almost 6 weeks since they received the item back. I am not going to order from them again. I am too worried should something goes wrong it will really take a long time to resolve it!

I ordered a new floor display for my store two months ago. After about a month I called to check the status and it is then that they told me my item is out of stock and that they were still waiting on it to arrive from overseas before they could ship it to me. I told them I would wait a little bit longer as I really needed it and they assured me it wouldn't take much longer. Two weeks ago I received a phone call saying my item finally arrived and they would be shipping it to me immediately. This morning I called because the shipment still has not arrived and now they say they haven't shipped it yet because they still dont have all of the items in stock to ship my complete order (after two MONTHS!). This is officially insane, I canceled my order and now need to start over with a new vendor. Dont waste your time with this company, their customer service is terrible, their shipping charges are astronomical and you will never know if they even have your items in stock.

Ordered a yellow sign. A white one was delivered. Ordered an additional letter set. It didn't arrive with the sign. Still waiting. Shipping price is CRAZY high. Additional info: Lowering score from two stars to one. Speciality Store Services has been arguing all day (via email) that the letters should have been there. Are we sure they aren't there? Were they put in with the letters that are part of the base purchase? NO! My pastor took the time to count the box of 176 letters to ensure there were not 476 letters in that box. There were only 167. The longer this goes on the worse this company looks.
