There are so many of these in Chicago and it is great to have because they’re in every town of Chicago it seems. There’s always ample parking that’s free and there is a large variety of choices of foods as well as non-food items. The prices are a little bit higher, but it’s convenient because they are everywhere. And they are really good sales sometimes where you can get mushrooms for one dollar, strawberries for one dollar, blueberries for one dollar, and even tofu for $1 which was just on 3/9/25. On the app, you can get a free item almost every weekend, but you just have to clip it as well as the digital coupons. Just make sure all the prices get scanned properly when you look at your receipt and they will adjust it right away if there is ever a technical error. Overall, having a Jewel Osco in Chicago makes life easier for me because of the sales as well as finding one everywhere.

Decent, better than the one Downtown.
It seems the self-checkout machines are starting to get old. It keeps flagging for employee assistance or giving errors. I guess companies don't want to hire people, so they don't have to pay out all the money they earn. 😂

I remember the night before Valentine's day, there were no employees on the registers. And there were only 3 self-checkouts open. Meaning a massive line of people. The employee struggled to keep up and started re-opening some of them.

Also, maybe it's because I traveled abroad for several months? But shopping in Jewel can feel so uncomfortable. It's like they suspect you to be a shoplifter even when you're doing nothing.

I was looking at sauce products, when suddenly people in the aisle scattered like they were scared. I hear an announcement saying "employee to aisle (number)". I look to my left and see an employee on her walkie talkie. Staring down at our aisle, seemingly reporting on a mysterious shoplifter.

Personally, I know it's not me. But just being in such a situation makes me never want to come back. It makes everyone feel uncomfortable. Might as well drive to Walmart now

This store consistently has items priced incorrectly. Tag says 5$, rings up 7$. The employees will argue with you even when showing them the tag. Like, happy to pay the real price…but lazy tagging or false advertising is not my fault. Srsly, learn to tag your items correctly then this won’t be an issue?! Accusing me of stealing a picture from a different time/year is comical…when you can look at the picture and see when/where it was taken. OR walk to the aisle and actually see the tag live in person! I mean what, are you going to suggest I printed my own tag and snuck it into the store next? Srsly no wonder people will actually willingly pay more at Mariano’s.

The way I feel right now...I placed an order for delivery due to me being extremely sick. The delivery status been saying Ready for pickup since 7pm and it's going on 10pm. Called store and customer service says that department is closed and I will have to call tomorrow morning. So I'm laying here sick without my food order. If it couldn't be delivered, I would have never ordered. What is this service offered for if you unable to commit to it.

Got my coffee from the Starbucks. Wanted to use the restroom to wash my hands. They would not give me the code. Asked me to go to customer service to get the code. There is no one at the service desk! I asked for a refund, since I can't wash my hands I am not going to touch food. They asked me to go to the customer service, again there is no one at the customer service. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE!

I just left, did not even bother to pick up the coffee!

Came in to Jewel-Osco today to grab some waters and a bite to eat. The customer service was up to par and Jewel-Osco had everything I needed. Only one line was open but this was not a problem because they were not that busy and plenty of self-checkout was available.

Bounced in today with my ride or die daughter on a mad hunt for the chicken tender bucket special for $9 because our online order at another location had issues with their warming station. I understand, things happen. Tried a second location at 2940 N. Ashland which only had old dry ones available and not willing to make a fresh batch. They DID have Pistachio Latte's at Starbucks and the barista was super pleasant, which made things a bit better.
So, threes a charm!! I've probably been to this location at Roosevelt & Canal 10 times over the span of 20 years and it is always clean, organized and the workers can point me in the direction of what I need. BIG thank you to the beautiful lady (blonde braids) in the hot deli selection who kindly greeted us and prepared our bucket. The case was SUPER CLEAN without food spillage. The tenders were freshly cooked. When she asked if I wanted anything else, the temptation was so great, I did my moonwalk backwards ooing and aahing at the selections. Y'all know I love Jewel, but I love great customer service even more.

I love this grocery chain and this store in particular.They have it all It’s truly a one stop shop.I like to start with a Starbucks coffee and maybe a sandwich from the deli,then take in the wonders of all the products on display.I say enjoy and make the walk..
So many long time employees they are like family.Pricing fair.Parking easy and plentiful.
They are superior to all other chains.
Although part of Albertson’s, I feel it’s a Chicago institution.
