This motel is in quiet and beautiful Salter Path. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the owners are fantastic! The motel offers convenient access to a private section of beach via a short walk over the nearby dune. We also enjoyed several restaurants and activities within walking distance.

We felt right at home and had a great time. Couldn’t recommend the William and Garland enough and can’t wait to stay again soon!

I saw this motel renovation on "100 Day Hotel Challenge" on HGTV - and just had to go check it out ! I was not disappointed ! It was a precious, family owned motel that has been remodeled. We stayed in #11, a 2 bedroom mobile home. Very well renovated. Perry and Amanda put beautiful detail in the renovation. It was quiet, private and very comfortable. Linens and beds very nice. Kitchen had all the basics. Loved the area! I enjoyed visiting with Perry and Amanda - they are a pleasure! Would definitely stay here if ever in the area again!!

Wow! What a wonderful family-owned motel in Salter Path on NC's beautiful Crystal Coast between Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach. Be sure to check out the entire web site. Three generations of family ownership and management show the pride they have in their motel and the sincere desire that every aspect of your stay be met to your level of expectation. My favorites were the comfortable bed and bed pillows and the shower. Extremely clean rooms.The appearance of the grounds is 5 star. Disappointments--NONE. Oh yes, the beach. Especially at low tide, a really long and wide beach. Walk as far as your bladder will allow. Give the William and Garland Motel a try. You won't be disappointed. Say "hi" to Perry and Amanda for me.

Loved the experience for our 6 year Anniversary. Check in was easy and well instructed.
The room was cute and spacious for our purposes. It had a great feel to it and was clean and comfortable. It was just two of us but we could see where it would have still been comfortable with a smaller 3rd.
Did not get a chance to test all the amenities but hope to on a return trip. We did make the trek out to the beach. It's as described (couple minutes of making your way) but the private path being partially covered by live oaks made for a nice journey to a quiet patch of beach. Considering other spots along the island didn't have much of a patch of beach after some storms, this was very welcomed. All around great experience and even got some sweet swag to remember it.

We booked a stay at the William and Garland to extend our Emerald Isle visit for a few days beyond our condo rental. What a quaint and beautiful motel! We loved the retro charm of our room. It was comfortable and we could easily see ourselves being able to stay for an extended visit especially with the kitchenette area. The beach is a quick walk down a lovely pathway. It is quiet and uncrowded. Interactions with the owners in person, on the phone and via text were friendly and responsive. We will definitely be returning!

We had a relaxing anniversary trip here. Even though you had to walk a little bit to the beach, the path was nice. The owners were friendly and very helpful. We would recommend staying here.

Planned a quick trip to Emerald Isle and remembered I just saw this cool
Motel on 100 Day Hotel Challenge. Rented two of the rooms featured on the show- so eclectic and fun! Rooms were super clean, beds and bedding were wonderful- we all slept very well. Property is well kept with fun outdoor games and a lovely lounge area. Great restaurants in walking distance was a definite plus. Didn’t get a chance to venture out to their private beach access- but what a great amenity! Owners were so friendly and welcoming. So glad we didn’t settle for a typical hotel room and truly enjoyed this special motel. Definitely plan to return!

We love the William & Garland! We originally discovered it on a lark during our honeymoon. We loved the quaint simplicity, best mattress, ever! fresh scented towels, cleanliness, the kitchenette, and direct access to the beach! So much so that we returned again for our first year anniversary! We couldn't believe the updates. Very stylish with that old-timey feel. Perry & Amanda go the extra mile to add their personal touch throughout their place. We just love that W&G is a generationally family owned establishment evident by their friendly, generous and hospitable family. It has already become a tradition for us and we look forward to returning next year, if not sooner❤️
