I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a “regular” as my budget doesn’t have much room to indulge in shopping as much as I would LOVE it to! However, I am SURE to hit up By a Thread for any special occasion or family photos, and even more sure to go when Emily runs sales. You can’t beat the sales for the quality of clothing you’re getting. The boutique shopping experience is like having a personal stylist, they’re all willing to help you put together a good fit, how to style a piece or give their honest opinion about how an outfit looks.

After following the store on Instagram for years, I finally visited the store today and it was a wonderful experience! Not only is the location accessible but the owner was very welcoming and kind. I’ve admittedly never bought anything from the store despite loving their curated styles because I was always worried about sizing as a curvy girl. I can say that my XL, size 14 self, had no problem fitting into their clothes and actually found a beautiful top and dress that fit my body perfectly! I will definitely be back.

This store is a hidden gem in Bellefonte. My daughter and I love to shop here. The owner is so nice and welcoming every time we come in. The quality of the clothes match the quality of the shopping experience - unmatched! I love that my daughter can find pieces she loves and I can too. I HIGHLY recommend By a Thread and we will definitely be back.

The worst customer service experience I have ever had. I’m not one to complain either. Emily made my child cry because she picked up a pair of sunglasses then said nothing. Emily was rude and cold. Bought a ton of product from her and didn’t even let my 3 year old use the bathroom. I will never buy another piece of clothing from this woman. I used to love her store because Emily was always so nice and welcoming. I used to rave about her store to other moms and women in the area. Not sure what has happened. After this experience and hearing/seeing how she treats her employees I can not recommend this store to anyone and advise you take your business elsewhere.
