We just purchased lamb chops yesterday, they said to sell by April 17th, when we went to cook them today they smelled like they were rotting. I am very disappointed that this is what they are selling in the stores.

This is a big store that has a lot of offerings. That's the good news. The bad news is that the layout is bizarre with aisles going in all different directions. Shop Rite can't change this, however, the parking lot is similarly bizarre as there is only one way to legally make a left turn onto 57 and that is by going around the movie theater. I only frequent this location if absolutely necessary and otherwise go to Flanders Shop Rite.

Great food and fresh vegetables and awesome eating area with a TV clean bathroom and a lot of self checkout and free wifi and clipless coupon and friendly helpful employees hot Chinese food and fresh sushi 🍣 and the location on the side for the free shuttle bus that will take you all over Hackettown and you can take it to the Washington ShopRite and yes even the Phillipsburg ShopRite all for free any age and Mon to Fri but no holiday including good Friday

Store is very well stocked. Parking lot is a nightmare. Being in a mall with stores so close makes parking, especially handicapped, difficult. I prefer Byram store

I have shopped at this Shoprite for 20 years and it's horrible that I have to travel to another Shoprite to have a prime rib roast cut into steaks for me. I was told the manager informed the meat department not to cut the meat for us customers because it would cost them too much to do that. I have never heard of a such thing being they have done it in years past. All the do is run it through a bandsaw so where is extra money involved to pay the workers?! It's just a shame to deprive the customers of a service that only happens once a year at Christmas plus Shoprite loses money on an expensive piece of meat.

I find it hard to rate a grocery store as due to the nature of the business there can be a lot of ebb and flow in terms of pricing, quality, staffing, etc., but I am finding myself more and more agitated with this store between out of stocks and in general not catering to clients who come in later. I work all day. I am not a stay at home mom or a retiree. I need to do my grocery shopping after 6pm. Sometimes I want to pick up something I can make quick or just eat. Lately this ShopRite is completely out of hot items like rotisserie chickens or fried chicken, there’s no fresh rolls left to self-select, and only one or two people working the deli counter leading to a long wait. There needs to be more focus on those of us who can’t possibly make it to the store earlier than that, and would still like to have options given to us. I just want a rotisserie chicken!

Update 1/2025: still more of the same. They are consistently running out of items like fresh bread or rolls by 6pm. They often don’t have various meats as advertised in the circulars- I have to go to other stores to locate them. It’s incredibly frustrating as this is the closest location to me but now I’ll have to drive further.

Why is Shoprite in Hackettstown NOT stocking the variety of products It has been doing for years. Now shelves are bare, products cannot be found and bowl and basket is being forced upon customers as the only option. Also, quality control has been more of an issue this year than in 30 years. So sad! I find myself at Weiss more often now where stock and quality matter.

This ShopRite I found pleasing to shop at because the isles are wider, and it's a very clean store. The Employees are very helpful and they have plenty of self checkout machines. 5 Stars! They have a very pleasant staff and very helpful staff in the pharmacy as well. Their hot bar and salad bar is the biggest I've seen in all the Shoprite's I've been at. It's a wonderful store to shop in.
