Something Special is an amazing hidden gem in Kingston!

I am infatuated with their Brussel sprouts salad that usually graces their menu in the Fall and their turkey sandwiches are always a fantastic go to. The macaroni salad is also nothing less than perfect!

Breakfast is amazing as well, there is no way you can go wrong with their breakfast sandwich or their French toast.

The staff at Something Special are always kind and grateful, no matter the time of day or how busy they are.

Also, super props for supporting local artist work constantly in the dining room!

Still one of the best in town and remains at a most affordable price and always displays very interesting art works from locals.
We go often and have never been disappointed. It's an excellent bakery with a good selection of artisan breads and pastries. The jewel of the place is Emily. She makes you feel like you're home again. On our last visit, we made it for breakfast and it was most satisfying. The coffee was bottomless, hot, and very timely. The meal portions have always been Goldilocks fine; just like Baby Bear's porridge - “ is just right.”
Added bonus: For those of you who do partake. The dude from the Ziggy papers -- he works there and he's just as cool as imagined 🤗.
Wishful thinking on my part; it would be excellent if they opened for late-evening dinning. Also, a tiny bump on the road (that might be reconsidered?) is the orange juice in plastic bottles; it just doesn't jive with their high standards.

Wow! How did I never hear about this place?! Staff is welcoming and professional, and the food is awesome! I had this amazing chocolate, strawberry latte, which was SO good, I'm actually getting thirsty now thinking about it! I got the Thursday Taco Special, which was excellent, but now I can't wait to go back to try the quiches, croissants and home made soups. I took a loaf of the cranberry walnut bread home, and after my husband ate 3 slices, he asked me to never bring it home again- ha! Now I can't wait to try their chicken salad sandwhich on that bread! What a great little place! My new favorite!

Was told, "Sorry you feel that way" when I expressed that the waiter did not make us feel welcome. He said said the dining room closed at 2:30 (we were paying our bill at 2:45) If they didn't want to serve us they should have been more clear when I called to see if they were open. Food was good but the waiter doubled down with, "We served you, and I'm not apologizing." I'm not apologizing either. I'm also never going back.
Ps, place feels kinda dirty.

12/6/24 went to something special today for lunch I was disappointed. I thought the food was a lot better. I got a turkey sandwich. The two pieces of bread were probably 2 inches thick each piece with one slice of turkey little bit of lettuce and a little tomato. All as I could taste is the bread not a fan probably won’t be going back. Some of the people that work there aren’t friendly at all 👎

I came here during the lunch rush and decided against getting a table as it was just myself. My takeout came out quickly, and it was exactly what I wanted! Bread is baked fresh, and cookies are so delicious.

Something Special is THE hidden treasure in Kingston. The food is AMAZING. The staff is SUPER KIND. The place is simply the most PERFECT SPOT for breakfast or lunch.

A hidden gem, in my opinion. Every time that I've been here, my food has always been amazing. Finding parking can be a bit hard to find, but it's worth it.
