If you are looking for a custom hat then this is a great place to come. I suggest booking an appointment, I did not but Kyle still did a great job multi-tasking. I knew nothing about this process but they were very helpful. You are getting a quality hat so you will pay a quality price but well worth it.

I had a great experience at Encounter Hat Co from start to finish. I was able to choose exactly what I wanted for my custom creation. Alexandria was patient with me while I made up my mind. She also took great care to get the fit precise and the look just right. I had her give it a distressed look and add some burned in markings with a branding iron. They have a wide variety of display hats to help you decide what you want your hat to look like. I was offered libations during the process to give me the full bespoke experience. Kyle showed me some of the hats he was working on while we talked about college football. I was stoked to have an in depth conversation about the Big 10 with a Golden Gopher in WY. It's been a couple weeks since my trip out west and my hat still fits perfectly, is comfortable to wear, and looks even better with a turkey 🪶🦃. Pro tip: give yourself some time(an hour or more) or make an appointment, this isn't something you want to have done in a hurry.

I booked an appointment at Encounter Hat as a surprise birthday present for my husband while we were visiting Jackson. Mallory was so kind and welcoming and talked us through the whole process. She was great in helping my husband decide which shape, color, band, etc. to go with to meet his hat vision. They offer stitching, interchangeable bands, feathers, fabric, branding and more. Mallory was willing to try anything to make the hat perfect. Since we are from out of town, she said we could call with any concerns or questions and if we needed the hate reshaped, we could send it out there. The hats are quite pricey, but it's worth it for a sustainable and custom hat! Overall we were there for a hour and a half and had a great experience!

I’d give the Encounter Hat Company 10 stars ⭐️ Mallory is such a nice lady and I plan on doing more business with her. She made me a replica cowboy hat of John Wayne in The Shootist, which was the DUKES last film. Thank you so much Mallory, I really appreciate you making this hat for me. One of these days I’m planning to come over and meet both you and Kyle and to see for myself how you both make custom hats. I highly recommend the encounter hat co.

This should be your go to spot for a custom fit hat in Jackson Hole. Don’t let the tourist traps get you. These are custom fit to your head and to your exact wants and needs, you aren’t taking a hat off a wall and adding a band around it. Kyle does an amazing job and turns it into an experience rather than just shopping for a hat. The prices are great and the quality is top notch. I will be going back every time we are in town.
