I went to look for some household items for my daughters new apartment. I was told since I'm a local business owner I wasn't allowed to shop there. The lady was very rude and told me she had already told me this several times. I explained to her I had never had a conversation with her and she was being very rude. I also notified her that my shopping was for personal (my daughter} and not my business related. Since this is all donation based and a non-profit (which I'm very familiar with since my main job for over 25 years has been with a local nonprofit) I asked for their Executive Directors information. She gladly gave me Kelly's information. My husband and myself reached out leaving messages upon messages with no return call or email from Kelly. I feel this behavior is unacceptable and should be looked at. This store is NOT helping our community grow as it claims by denying individuals to shop based on their occupation. I will gladly support other local nonprofit business. Would give 0 stars if I could.

I’ve been living in Cottonwood my entire life — born and raised here — and I’ve been coming to Old Mission Thrift Store for years. It used to be a great local spot with friendly staff and fair treatment. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

During a recent visit, I was treated very rudely by the staff. I go about once a month, and this time, I was told I had to leave some of the items I had picked out. I asked if there was a limit on clothing, so I could make sure to stay within it next time, but they told me there *wasn't* a limit — just that I ā€œcouldn’t get too many things.ā€ That makes no sense. If there’s no limit, then how is anyone supposed to know what’s ā€œtoo muchā€?
No one deserves to be treated the way I was treated that day. It’s a shame to see a once-respectable thrift store turn into such an unwelcoming place. I hope they take a serious look at how they’re treating loyal community members and on top of that, their prices are getting outrageous They’re becoming a goodwill Definitely not going here anymore. You just lost a customer.

I had some items to donate and Billie and Artie were amazingly helpful. They called me 10 minutes before they arrived and quickly loaded everything. They made it easy and fun. Old Town Mission Thrift Shop is awesome!

I would give this store zero if I could.

I visited this store today and was very excited to see what they have in stock.

I was originally told that this store was a good place to shop because it helps the needy. I myself have had family members homeless and have been in need and wanted to support their cause, but the attitude and actions of the manager was extremely off putting.

The manager stopped a customer in line. I myself was in the store and witnessed the whole thing.

She stopped the customer and began to accuse them of ā€œresellingā€ items they purchased at the discount.

The manger began to threaten the customers that if the owner or herself found out that they were ā€œresellingā€ they would be banned from shopping there. I didn’t know that was a rule to shop there, (that we will be told what we can and can’t do with the items WE purchase with our OWN MONEY that are no longer in their possession _very weird policy)

The woman (customer) began to explain that she had a new business or something that she was decorating with the stuff from the store (offered to show pictures of her office to prove she wasn’t) and that it was completely rude of the manger to not only speak to her so harshly, and to threaten her of being banned , but to also have this conversation in FRONT OF THE WHOLE STORE !

The manger kept cutting the woman off and kept threatening to ban her and making accusations and being EXTREMELY rude to the woman. If she or the owners had any issues with this customer or ANY customers they should have the courtesy of having a private conversation on the side NOT in front of other customers and their employees.

I have never seen such unprofessional behavior and conduct before and will not be recommending others to shop at this store. Very disappointing, especially from a ā€œChristianā€ establishment. Their attitudes there DO NOT represent God or HIS image of kindness and respect.

Totally disappointed, women approach us and been very rude about us shopping ā€œa lotā€, saying to us ā€œleave something for othersā€, that’s not that way to talk to local costumer. I live in Sedona for 15 years and I do not have ā€œsaleā€ or ā€œbusinessā€ like they mentioned me. this is second hand store and that way to approach you local costumers is totally rude and insulting, you guys are forgetting the we are also buyers and yes we are also giving so much to the community here and the way treat us at the store today was totally unacceptable!!

I have donated furniture and other items several times in the last couple of months and they do a wonderful job. They’re very careful not to mark up the walls and are careful with the items that I’m donating. I highly recommend them.

The prices at this thrift store are great, but the customer service leaves much to be desired. The atmosphere feels off with unfriendly staff and an unpleasant smell. If you can overlook these factors, you’ll find some good deals.
