Svendsen’s has been a key resource for us as we’ve been building out our van in the Bay Area.

They have so many tough to find components in stock (especially electrical and plumbing parts in our case) and very helpful staff. We’re always happy to support local businesses like theirs over Amazon and other online sellers whenever possible. And being able to look at products in person is super helpful when I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for or what it’s called!

I highly recommend them for anyone working on a boat, RV, van or anything similar!

Yes, they have a huge inventory and delivery is fast and precise, yes, they have a huge building and the knowledge of almost everything on marine trade... yes, prices are high and should be your last resort. I use this store just when I need something right now. For the rest, online store has always better prices and selection.

I don't own a boat but I am a metal fabricator and need industrial coatings. I've found Barry is the most knowledgeable staff there regarding painting and the products needed to get your specific project done right. He has years of experience in the field. Everyone else who works there was friendly and helpful as well. Also, there's a vast inventory of products on site!

A great chandlery; they have an amazing variety of inventory on site. I have mostly bought marine grade electrical components there. I like the fact that they have a large inventory of ANCOR marine grade wire in all of the ABYC recommended colors, and there is no minimum length -- if you need 5" of 4 gauge 105C marine grade tinned wire, then no problem! They also have a large inventory of Blue Sea Systems and Victron Energy electrical components. I have also bought a lot of stainless steel hardware from them -- they stock bolts and screws in both SAE and metric.

This place is incredible. Anything you can think of they likely have there. Think of them like a GIANT version of West Marine, with a selection of both retail and industrial style boat parts. If you don't see something, just ask them and they probably have it in store in the back. I will return for all my marine needs!

Wow! Huge selection of marine supplies. Staff is friendly and very helpful. I needed to buy some hard-to-find varnishes for my woodie, and Svendsen's had them and much more. Worth the drive to Alameda.
