I can’t take anything away from the ladies working the counter; they doing their job. Lawd have mercy on whomever is now baking and made the gawd awful decision to cut corners on the recipes. Yes there’s an inflation on everything but us true foodies know and notice when the quality we’re accustomed too changes. I’m a 20+ years supporter of this business… I LOVE MY SCOOBY SNACKS!!!!

The ONLY place I get Teacakes and cookies from in Houston! A local staple. When I say Teacakes I do mean old school homemade (NOT Sugar cookie) TEACAKES. I prefer mine original. Although I have long moved from Houston, anytime I am home I make it my business to stop by. It's the Chocolate Chip Pecan cookies for meee! But don't get me wrong because the German chocolate cake is ...you just need to get a slice when you stop by.

I normally don't be on this side of town, but when I do I stop by to buy teacakes. The teacakes are fresh and baked to perfection. I asked for ' Italian Wedding cake ' and was giving a simple yellow cake with white icing. The customer service is subpar, make sure you greet customers and check them out in a timely manner. One of the ladies was checking me out, she stopped off and on , and proceeded to hold a conversation with someone else across room. She finally attempt to rang up my order then another lady interrupted me checking out. I had to inform the ladies I had somewhere to go, please ring me up. The establishment do not provide utensils, I was told I had to travel with one. Again.... Make sure speak to customers when they visit YOUR establishment. Check them out in a timely manner.... Provide customers with utensils....

They have some of the best homemade deserts I've ever had. I got several different ones to try and loved them all. I also got some tea cakes which were delicious! The pineapple coconut is my favorite or maybe the lemon or both. So so good!

I went twice in 1 week, that should say it there, but omg I had the lemon and pecan TeaCakes, lemon Cake and red velvet. I will be returning because it’s good. I took the kids and before we made it home theirs was gone.

We have ordered many cakes over the years from this bakery, but after this last experience, we'll be finding a new bakery to do business with! Eventhough the cake quality & taste hasn't been the same on several occasions, we continuedto give them a chance. Well, not anymore! In addition, I'm a business owner in Houston as well and customers should never be ridiculed because of their cake choice- no matter what it is! We ordered a Chocolate Coconut Cake (don't knock it 'til you try it) and the staff literally laughed in my husband's face and told him his order was weird...as if they've never heard of chocolate cake w/ white buttercream icing with coconut! This was our second time ordering this particular combination from them. The first cake was delicious, this time the cake was dry & tasted more like devil's food cake. The icing was too sweet as well and didn't taste like buttercream as requested at all! We were so disappointed we threw the entire cake in the trash! I'm loyal to who treats me right and what's good. On that note, thanks A&K, but your services are no longer desired!
