We absolutely love Board Game Paradise. Yes, you’re going to pay a few bucks more for the games than you would pay on Amazon, but you are paying for personalized recommendations. I love that I can walk in, give a few names of games I like and why, and they will give me an array of games that are in a similar category AND tell me about the game. It is far better than buying an unknown game online somewhere. The owner is trustworthy and truly excited to share the love of games with you and your family. I won’t buy games anywhere else.

Avoid this store for Pokémon releases. I was looking for a local store to buy new Pokémon cards, but these guys are selling new sets for over double their retail price days after it’s release (Prismatic Evolutions ETB $120 plus tax).

I guess if you can’t beat the scalpers you just become the scalpers. Shame on you Board Game Paradise.

Edit: Board Game Paradise has responded to me claiming that hey had low inventory and wishing me luck on my search. If you look at my picture you will see one ETB in my hands and at least four more stacked on the shelf. These glorified scalpers did not NEED to sell this for more than double the price, but instead they are choosing to be selfish. If they had a $10 up charge I would have been glad to support a local store.

Stay away from these people. You can do better. Look at their response to my review and consider that they are lying about inventory to cover up their own greed. Shame.

Great local place to go to when looking to either play or buy board games. You can go upstairs and pick from a very large selection board games to play for just 5 dollars.

Just edited my review, it gets a star off only because something causes the employee on the phone to be really difficult to understand when calling, if this is fixed it would be greatly appreciated.

THIS is your LGS (or should be)! The shop is super welcoming, well laid out, and the staff are great. I've gotten so many good pick ups and recommendations here - with plenty more on the never ending wish list. Board games, RP systems, TCG/CCG; the selection is fantastic, the events never disappoint, the staff know WHAT'S UP, and the owner is really nice. Seriously, just go. There's zero intimidation factor in this shop. It's a safe place to be a newbie or to nerd out with fellow hobbyists. Just, uh, don't be surprised when you're addicted to just *being there* or when Cards Against Humanity is no longer enough for you (though, they have that too!).

I have been paying premium prices on Pokemon products here for years. Packs are never 5 dollars, always over for even the most common stuff. Etbs are the same, always over. I was fine with supporting them. Prismatic comes out and bam, they slap a sticker on saying it's over $100. The excuse that they need to make up for not getting a lot in isn't true because they markup all Pokemon products.

I don't want scalpers buying it all in one go, I get that, but I wish they could find a way to sell 1 product each to loyal customers. They have you put your phone number in for an account, so they know who's loyal and not. That being said, I knew I was skipping prismatic, but seeing the high pricing for it left me feeling bad at what I perceived as hypocrisy.

It's not a good situation to be in, I get it, but it's left a sour taste for me, and I have now started purchasing pokemon products online and at other retailers. I won't pay a premium for easy to get products here anymore.

They actively kicked me out in a no -magic nights. I went on a Friday planning to meet 8 friends just trying a new spot. Board games is not a paradise. It’s a joke. An overpriced one at that.
