The Capri is an older hotel with a funky vibe. Kind of about a 1978 look. It’s not like the fancy places in town but we loved it! It’s just east of the main village and definitely within easy walking distance.
All the things that matter are done well: our room was large and clean. The beds were comfy and the linens perfectly crisp and fresh. Our room had a balcony facing the pool and lawn. Very nice. Jazzy music plays and pretty lights on at night.
We didn’t swim but we looked and the pool is very clean and kept up. I’m guessing it’s heated. Either that or the people in it were from Wisconsin!
We had a fridge in our room. Lots of snacks you can buy but honestly, we took a short walk to the market down the road and bought some snacks and sodas there.
The staff were all very gracious. I forgot my phone charger and they lent me one for free for our full stay. They have assorted tea available in the lobby.
If I had one complaint, the toilet paper was a bit “rough”. Not sure if they’re on a septic. It’s environmentally friendly, but not so much on your skin.
It’s family and pet friendly. The large lawn is nice for you and your dog. There are bikes available too.
I’d be happy to stay at the Capri again.

A cute boutique hotel that I enjoy staying in whenever I get the chance to visit Ojai. The pool area is lovely and the interior of the hotel is lovely. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Please don’t forget to always tip the cleaning crew, they do an exceptional job!

We just did a hotel buyout for our wedding weekend and it was absolute perfection - the Capri is absolutely beautiful and has the greatest vibes. Plus, the staff is wonderful. The events staff (led by Kris) was incredible and went above and beyond to create the event of our dreams! I cannot recommend the Capri more! Already planning my next visit.

We just did a hotel buy-out at the Capri for our daughter’s wedding weekend (wedding took place 30 mins away) and we (and all of our guests) were so pleased with the rooms, outdoor space, lobby with coffee and water and drinks by the pool. Kris and the entire staff at the Capri were so helpful every step of the way. We hosted a fairly large catered dinner on the gorgeous lawn out back and Kris and his team helped us navigate catering, rentals etc. We were definitely in great hands and would highly recommend the Capri to anyone I know staying in Ojai and/or in need of a hotel buy-out out. I give it 10/10!!!

I love the place and I think they did very good with the interior renovation. I was staying the downstairs bedroom and I could hear absolutely everything the people above where doing. I couldn’t sleep well because they moved a lot. I think they should put some kind of carpeting.

We hosted our entire wedding party & guests at the Capri hotel for the weekend of our wedding and it was truly magical! Everyone was so accommodating and helpful throughout our entire stay. Throughout the entire planning process, Kris, Edarita, and Marissa were spectacular at curating our detail oriented, personalized weekend. We had Shelter Social Club host our farewell brunch which was so beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend staying here for the weekend and/or hosting events at the Capri!

Absolutely loved our stay at Capri Hotel. A hidden gem in Ojai and perfect location. My girlfriend and I can’t get enough of this place from the pool to the amenities and free bikes for biking around town have been amazing. Not the mention the rooms and the entire vibe is just on point!!! 10/10 would return.

This is a cutesie renovated motel with thoughtful design choices and lots of space. The amenities are VERY minimal, so think of this place as a nice place to rest your head after a day of hiking and exploring the darling downtown.

The staff is very nice. The motel does have a cute retail area with some t-shirts, skin care products, books and little effects.

They do have a pool and an open space in the back for the guests to enjoy.

In terms of high levels of service, there just isn’t any here. This is a very bare bones hospitality experience, so if you’re looking to be pampered, I’d head over to the Ojai Valley Inn who is among the very best in class in offering that type of experience which you will pay$$ for.

Things to know:

While this place is kid friendly, they do NOT have cribs or pack n plays which means you’ll have to bring your own.

Parking is limited but they do not require parking passes, so curious how this plays out during high season.

Coffee and tea are located in the lobby. Everything offered in the room is a charge.

There is no food establishment attached to the property so you’ll have to venture off property to get a meal. But they do have snacks in the room you can pay for.
