Not the friendliest, said thank you to the young girl in the front counter after checkout, she walked away and started scrolling on her phone. No customer service, heard her complaining as soon as I entered the store about a customer calling in to ask for help.

This is a great place for your home improvement needs, it has everything you need but with that local welcoming feeling. I spend a lot of time in there and everytime they are helpful without making me feel like a girl that doesn't belong in a hardware store. Now they know me so well, they just ask what color of paint am I getting today. Thanks Carp Lumber! You guys are the best!

Here is one of the traditional hardware/building supply community-based operations that seem to have an endless supply of everything that you will ever need. Great place to shop or just to visit and browse around for new ideas for DIY projects. Well-organized, pleasant facility with friendly experienced service staff on hand to assist as needed.

Very smart people who are happy to help. big selection of products and tools. i've had good experiences here every time i go in. have been there at least 50 times. recently bought a john deere electric gator through them. arrived in perfect condition, delivered to my property. Ralph Iannelli knew everything about the vehicle. can't say enough good things about this place.

Good people, good vibe👍🏻! Old school lumber/hardware store for local people! Little bit more expensive than big box stores, but the convenience of being so local, moms and paps vibe feel is worth every penny!👍🏻😊
The only thing- I needed 1"×3" and 2"×3" lumber, and they don't carry 😑

First off, Carpinteria Valley Lumber Company has been around since 1929. That in itself is impressive. I would come here way before I'd go to a huge big box home improvement center. The staff is always happy see you and is always willing to help with anything to do with home improvement. This place is impeccably clean and we'll organized and will benefit anyone doing small home improvements to large remodels.

Most often they are or fine to deal with, and in the past I have been happy. Today however was different, I called to ask if the had a hollow core 1 3/8" 3'X6'8" hardboard door in stock. A young girl answered, her response was: "You would need to come down and look, we have lots of doors in stock." I replied: "so no there is no one there that knows if you have a door in stock" she replied: "no"..... WOW! I will still give four stars because I am sure this young lady does not represent this company for what they really are.
