This place is extremely charming and pleasant to spend time in. Clean, well lit, and not too noisy (no loud machines or music, just soft French music playing). The pastries are superb without being overly sweet. The vanilla coffee has vanilla bean floating in it, yum!! Can’t wait to bring friends and family back to try again!

Wow, I just took a bite out of the guava cream cheese croissant and I’m blown away! So deliciously creamy and crispy. The guava is like a jam that is perfectly balanced (sweet, but not overly so). The croissant is both fluffy and crispy in all the right ways. The iced saffron and cardamom latte was also so good! I took a leap and tried something new and was not disappointed—in fact my expectations were fully exceeded coming to Diotima. Kian and the staff were so kind. The other customers were also so sweet. Kian is cultivating an amazing, friendly community. Next time I’ll eat in and have my coffee and baked goods because the ambiance is so wonderful. Thank you, Diotima!

The best pastries and bake goods in the OC area! I ordered everything from here and can’t get enough! Kian is the owner and chef/baker of the Diotima Bakehouse and he knocks it out of the park. This unique and small owned-business shop is exactly what’s needed in this Mission Viejo neighborhood and brings life back into this sleepy town! The atmosphere is amazing, the store is so clean and cozy, and the food is top notch! This isn’t a recommendation, this is a MUST GO! My family and I are now regulars here and can’t wait to come back all the time!

One of the most delicious croissants I have ever had! So flaky and masterfully laminated. All of the pastries looked really tasty, and there was a great variety! We also had iced lattes and the espresso was smooth and rich.

Beyond how delicious everything was, the staff were so kind. They gave us a sample of the Orange Blossom Bostock, unprompted, after we had sat down to enjoy our food. It was also great!

We aren't local, or we would be back again and again. Do yourself a big favor and check this place out! Do be aware they have odd hours, so make sure you check them before you head over.

If you're heading to Diotima bakery on a Saturday, be prepared for a line before they even open! That's how irresistible their pastries are. 😍

I tried their croissants, and wow, they're not just delicious; they have this amazing mouthfeel that's hard to resist. 🥐

I opted for the ham and cheese croissant, and it was just the right balance – not too salty, and oh-so-buttery. 😋

What makes this place even better is Chef Kian and his staff. They're super friendly and happy to chat about their pastries. 👨‍🍳

I've learned my lesson; next time, I'm going early or hitting them up during the week. Can't wait to indulge again! 🕑🗓️

I follow Chef Kian on IG and am always drooling over the yummy pastries he's making. Finally made it to try some of them and I was not disappointed! The cookies and croissants were delicious! Can't wait to go back!

I heard about this place from a friend, so i went to check it out and i liked it. all the pastries and sweets were nice. my personal favourite is the vanilla custard croissant.

The staff were friendly and kind. If I go, it’s for the baked goods and to chat with the staff, an amazing place.

Even now, months after as I continue to go, so many delightful treats. Love the savory treat on saturdays. Will recommend to all, and all to come early rather than later because sometimes there’s so much demand , a lot of stuff runs out. But that’s a good problem to have.

Friendly service, cozy interior, and delicious food! The croissants are easily the best I've had.

We tried the plain, chocolate, almond, and custard croissants, as well as pear tart and strawberry custard croissant.

I arrived 35 minutes before open and was second in line.
