This little market is the friendliest place I have ever shopped, and they are consistent with their friendliness and manners! I tend to complain a lot about clerks and customer service people who don't greet you, thank you for shopping, etc. so when I started frequenting this shop after I moved into the area, I definitely noticed how outgoing, friendly, and polite everyone is....and it's not just the more "mature" employees. Even the young ones are friendly and courteous! (I'm not trying to stereotype - I have just noticed over past few years to a decade that the 20-30 something customer service crowd seems to lack when it comes to friendliness and attention to customers' needs). But that is definitely not the case here. Everyone smiles and I feel like they genuinely like their jobs and taking care of their customers, which says a lot for management, as well.

In addition to their friendly staff, the store is always clean and neat, and I can usually find just about anything I'd want from the bigger chain grocery stores. Some items are way cheaper, too, which is awesome considering it's classified more as a convenience store than it is a grocery store.

Their soft drinks in the cooler are always ICE COLD, as well! After a hard day working, it's very nice to actually get a cold drink out of a cooler (vs. lukewarm, at best, from other similar stores).

The staff were FANTASTIC! Great customer service! Really amazing food choices. Brand name products and lots of locally made treasures. First time in store and I’m in love 🙂 I will be a regular from now on!

Nice little country market with a nice selection of fresh produce. I picked some local mini plums that were delicious. Also picked up some local coffee, which is very smooth and good. Will stop back when we are out there.

I love this place! There's nothing like walking up and seeing all kinds of fruit and veggies that are directly from local farmers. The absolute favorite time for me is fall for massive amounts of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, etc! Love their deli, great prices, lots of choices. Everyone is extra nice! Prices are generally a bit more than a chain store. Baked goods are delicious! But, they're a bit too expensive. Unless you wait for something to get a bit older. I buy tobacco and rolls from there. Always have
Just love family owned feel. Always buy a bit of this and that. ONE PROBLEM!!! NO ONE WEARS a MASK!!! Are legally supposed to! Said something 3 times and no change! Please,: SAVE MY LIFE! Wear a mask! I'm high risk and pneumonia 3x sine 3/2020!++THANKS ALL! They wear their masks now! Are as great as always!

The history of this spot is wonderful. My wife grew up there frequenting it before it became Dottie’s. Yesterday however, she went to Dottie’s to get a few items and needed to use the bathroom. Guess where Dottie’s employees point good paying customers to use a bathroom? TO A PORTA POTTY OUTSIDE!
Whyyy Why don’t you offer a sink or water to clean up in?
What is this 1890?
My wife walked out after being offered that. She didn’t purchase anything.
I called a day later to see if this was true.
Employee said “no public bathrooms, there’s a porta potty”
It is 2023…a lovely country store can only offer THAT?

It is crazy seeing how different this place looks from when it was hakes. It is being remodeled so nicely, but not ruined. I am glad that Dotties is keeping most of what Hakes had and did, they are just putting the remodeling in and extra space the place needed to really be a nice mom and pop shop that we all know it is. Great job with it. I will always be a loyal customer to this store.
