Although this market has recently changed ownership, the quality of food is still great. This is still a great Asian food staple in the Mission District.

I found the selection adequate but not amazing. The only chili oil is the same underwhelming brand at Safeway. The spice selection is limited to Hispanic spices and I couldn't find sumac. Selection is otherwise good and I appreciate the air conditioning.

One of the best Banh Mi Sandwiches I've ever had. Warm bread that's soft inside, crispy outside and loaded with meat. The pickled carrots have good flavor and crunch. I only wish there was also Daikon radish which is usually typical of Banh Mis.

Amazing anything-you-can-want shop. It's like Uwajimaya and the best Mexican grocery got together in the Mission to make magic. I go here to find things I do not even know I need. The staff is super helpful and kind. The produce is clean, outstanding, and well priced. Same for their meat and poultry department. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Update: this place gets better every time I go. Always great for new discoveries!

One star for the always friendly staff. I had high hopes for the ownership’s change but for now I’ll go elsewhere for items that are no longer carried here. At times the music volume is too loud, especially the blaring station breaks/ads. My requests to restock items seem to be ignored. They have limited Asian food offerings but increased selection in the pet food section. The produce looks more clean and fresh but with far less organic choices. It seems like there’s more prepackaged carb-sugar items, but no more variety of local fresh bread. There are now cakes in place of banh mi. There’s more toilet tissue in large bulk quantity with smaller, more expensive or perfumey options. TP might be a small thing but it’s a staple. As a city dweller with minimal space maybe consider introducing portable bidets so the only choice isn’t having to spend more $ for less 🙂

Centrally located on the corners of 18th and Mission Streets.
Open late until 9 pm

Went in search of Asian green veggies-located a few that were available. Most were, per usual, were in clear white plastic bags. This is sometimes a barrier to seeing freshness. They frown upon you when you open the bag and take out the spoiled veggies. My thinking is why pay for rotten food.
This store was well stocked with typical American, Latin, and Asian products. Prices were high on staples like can of corn or beans at $3 plus dollars.
Shopping while black is always interesting, unique, and frustrating.
A staffer began sweeping each aisle I seemed to be on. So I walked each and every aisle 3 times to ensure cleaness.

Love this place - I cook a lot of Asian dishes and it's really the only place near the Mission that you can find a wide variety of mostly East and SE Asian ingredients. The next closest place would probably be Golden Natural up on Church.

They had garlic chives the day I stopped in, tons of different kinds of mushrooms and greens. They're all quite cheap and most of it is fresh. I've taken off one star because sometimes the produce isn't the greatest and you do have to pick through it to make sure you get a fresh item.

Nice people great food it's the last of its kind. A quality, Asian family owned full sized grocery store hiding in the mission. I'll have pics next visit.
