Adding to my review 10/22: Despite filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, Evangelina Boutique has not responded or resolved the issue. I remain disappointed by an unclear return policy after only being offered store credit due to a "back-to-school" sale, and no disclosure that items were final sale on the product pages, during checkout, on the shipping notice, etc. Today I filed a complaint with the Attorney General’s office and recommend others do the same. Be cautious—there’s a serious lack of transparency, and customer satisfaction is not a priority.

I recently made my FIRST and LAST purchase from Evangelina Boutique as their return policy has left me deeply disappointed. I purchased several items online, including two dress and two skirts. While I kept one dress that fit, the other dress and skirt did not (and I accidentally ordered 2 of the same skirt). When I returned these items, I expected a refund. Instead, I was informed by the store that the items were considered "final sale" due to a temporary "back to school" promotion, and I would only receive store credit.

At no point during my shopping experience—whether in the cart, at checkout, or on my receipt—was there any indication that these items were final sale. This lack of transparency is not just frustrating; it's UNETHICAL. Customers have the right to be clearly informed of all terms and conditions before completing a purchase, especially when it comes to something as significant as a no-refund policy.

I requested an exception, considering this was my first purchase and that the policy was not communicated and I'm out of state (can't try things on), but I was only granted a store credit. This leaves me no choice but to never shop here again. I find this practice deceptive and on par with retailers known for poor customer service - like Fashion Nova.

As a result of this experience, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Consumers deserve to be treated with honesty and respect, and this experience has made it clear that Evangelina Boutique does not uphold these values.

Updated Review: Problem resolved; after the response to my review I went back to the store and was able to exchange the belt. Yeah! I even bought a sweater. They do have lots of cute things. I’d encourage a more customer friendly return policy.

Feel like I was ripped off by this store. I bought several items and tried on a pretty belt in silver. I ended up buying the same belt in gold but did not try it on; when I got home I immediately realized the belt was broken and unusable, so I went back to get a replacement. Shocked they offered nothing. No credit, no replacement, no refund - just a broken belt. I had my receipt, the belt had on the tag and it was two days after my purchase. They lost this customer.

(I’m referring to the store facing State St.)Besides the store being extremely empty (shelves, racks and tables), the store clerk looked upset to see me or something. She was not warm or friendly at all. Note to the store owner, make sure your employees smile and greet people. Smiles are free and go a long way 🙂
