After a hike close by, we stumbled upon this gem and weren't sure if we needed a reservation. The place exudes an upscale vibe with an excellent ambiance. The café, housed in a Victorian-style home, boasts charming decor including a small fountain and a red phone booth—such a delightful touch. The staff went above and beyond with their accommodating and genuinely kind service, which truly stood out.

We indulged in a variety of coffees, including mandarin mocha, banana bread latte, spicy chai, and a special Valentine's Day blend. The highlight was undoubtedly the “Coconut mochi stuffed pandan pain perdu”—imagine mochi combined with crispy French toast—absolutely scrumptious for those with a sweet tooth. We also savored the delicious garden omelette, katsu chicken sando, and vegan scramble; each dish was fantastic.

It's an ideal spot for a weekend brunch date. I'll definitely be back soon! Keep up the amazing work! We've uncovered a hidden treasure in the Bay Area!

The service was wonderful, very friendly staff. We had a delicious (and beautiful) mocha and London Fog tea. Very cool ambience too. Recommend getting your order “for here” to enjoy the atmosphere.

What a beautiful spot! They had several vegan options. I had the Pan Roasted Organic Tofu and it was delicious!

I returned again with my meetup group and we had a fantastic time. I had the vegan scramble which was delicious but I did think I was getting a scramble. It is more of a hash. I loved it but just expected something different. The group ordered a variety of dishes and everyone loved everything.

Got to visit Gardenia , and it was an absolutely delightful experience. Nestled in a prime location, the restaurant boasts stunning architecture that is both welcoming and elegant. The theme of the place invites you to relax, soak in the ambiance, and truly enjoy your meal.

We were fortunate to get a lovely corner table on the second floor, which offered a cozy and intimate setting. David O., our host, made our visit exceptional. His courteous and kind demeanor left a lasting impression, and he went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. When our table became a bit cramped with all our dishes, he thoughtfully brought over a side stool to help manage the overflow, sparing us the hassle of balancing plates. He also took the time to explain the menu in detail and provided fantastic recommendations. A big shoutout to David for his stellar service!

Our order at a glance:

- Lobster Deviled Eggs:
These were a delightful twist on the classic deviled eggs. Topped with wasabi flying fish roe, the eggs had a subtle kick that paired beautifully with the creamy filling. The touch of lime added a zesty freshness, while the micro herbs elevated the presentation and flavor. Every bite was a perfect balance of richness and brightness.

- Gardenia Omelet:
Crafted with organic Glaum Ranch eggs, this omelet was a masterpiece. It was filled with summer asparagus, tomato confit, Sonoma County Alba mushrooms, and boursin cheese, creating a creamy, earthy, and slightly tangy medley of flavors. The fresh, high-quality ingredients shone through, and the omelet was cooked to perfection—soft, fluffy, and incredibly satisfying.

- Avocado Toast:
This was anything but ordinary. The base of the dish was a perfectly toasted country boule, topped with creamy Brokaw avocado and a unique miso tapenade that added depth and umami. The cashew cream and truffle honey brought a luxurious touch, while the micro citrus and hemp seeds added texture and brightness. To top it off, the over-easy egg added richness, making it a wholesome and flavorful dish.

-Coffee:
We complemented our meal with a couple of batch brew coffees, which were smooth, aromatic, and just the right pick-me-up.

To sum it up, Gardenia is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The stunning ambiance, thoughtful design, and impeccable service make it a must-visit. The attention to detail in both the food and the overall experience is commendable. A big thank you to David for making our meal so memorable.

If you’re in Los Gatos and looking for a place to relax and savor exceptional food, Gardenia should be at the top of your list. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We came here for brunch. Ordered Lobster devil egg, Kalua pork hash brown and Gardenia omelette. Everything tastes good! Lots of healthy choice. I like that the food is light, not oily. The service was good. Atmosphere is relaxing. Lots of nice scenery. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

It wasn't busy yet on a Sunday at 10:30am. The food was average. The atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant is at an historical old house with a story behind it. The service was very good, but we tried for a long time to flag our waiter down. They are busy serving the customers, but not actively scanning the tables for customers' needs. Maybe it is a "give the customers space" type service. This is an upscale hangout place for the rich Los Gatos neighbors.

We made reservations for brunch on Sunday and were seated inside. Their outdoor seating area looked good too- it seemed pet friendly and they had heaters (this was in February).

The restaurant is very well decorated and busy. The service was great! Our server was friendly and helpful, the food was out pretty fast.

We ordered the avocado toast with tempeh, tofu scramble and Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were delicious with a nice balance of flavors (loved the hot honey!), the tofu scramble was more like a tofu stir fry but tasted good. The avocado toast was a little disappointing- the tempeh on the side was good but the rest of it lacked salt and acidity. Maybe would have been better with a slice of lemon?

We also had two of their coffees with oat milk and beignets. The beignets were the highlight of the meal! They were served with huckleberry coulis which I almost finished (note, this kind of blackens your teeth but it’s worth it 😂).
