Excellent place! First time in and we had a wonderful time! All the food and salad bars were clean and fresh looking. Coco did explain to us that the chef had went to lunch, but the lobster sliders and Mezze plate were worth the wait! They even had pink pineapples!

My favorite market. Convenient, clean, just the right amount of unique items. I'm not a big fan of the bakery however. My selections there don't usually taste as good as they look. Or just not fresh enough. I know gelsons is pricey. Also not as much organic fruit choices as I would like. But overall, it's still the best market around. I wish they had self check out. Store is on the small side so no room I suppose. Hot food and salad bar are great. Plenty free parking.

Wow! 6 oz's of fresh carved turkey breast, with 2 sides. I chose cream style corn and mashed potatoes. All excellent! Nice n hot, moist and server and facilities were very sanitary. I grabbed a Vitamin Water too. Total less than $20. A very good meal in every way. I'll be back to this Gelson's to feast off their hot deli meals! (Note: pic is after i ate half of everything to make certain this review is reliable.)

Love the store!! Love the products! Not the employees. Most are seriously rude every time I have been there and when I brought a friend from out of town to spend a lot of money. He is never coming back because the cashier was so rude. Heidi, we hope whatever made you take your personal issues out on a random customer gets better. Bartenders always rock, service deli awesome, bakery awesome!

Victor Bene Bakery inside Gilson's supermarket, Monarch Beach . . .

When I enter Gilson's door nearest to Victor's bakery, a world of amazing smells grab my attention. The moment I catch a whiff of the freshly baked goods, I am transported to a world of excellent pastries. For over 30 years, this bakery has been an integral part of my family’s celebrations. crafts unique creations for birthdays and holiday gatherings, especially wedding cakes, which are moist and light and melt in your mouth.

Victor’s bakery goods will grab you; don't wander too close unless you intend to buy something. I can personally vouch for the exceptional quality of his baked goods. I'm weak; I have no self-control. The display case is a feast for the eyes, showcasing an array of cakes and pastries that demand appreciation. Among my family’s favorites are the mouth-watering Mexican and elegant Florentine cookies, both good to the taste buds.

However, the birthday and wedding cakes genuinely steal the show. Each year, we place a special order for each birthday, and with good reason—Victor’s creativity ensures that each cake is perfectly ordered to meet the desires of each birthday family member. Suppose you ever find yourself in Monarch Beach. In that case, I recommend visiting Victor Bene Bakery, tucked away in the southeast corner of Gilson’s supermarket near the main entrance and the produce area. Trust me, a taste of his creations is an experience you won't want to miss. Oh yeah, his coffee is also of high quality.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that they opened another register when more than two people were in line. It was a nice gesture from the management, making the checkout process quicker for everyone. The store has a great selection of high-end ice cream, making visiting the ice cream enjoyable. I cannot resist the temptation to buy a pint of my favorite flavor.

FRIENDLY SERVICE ! My wife and I decided to do some shopping at this store for the first time on Friday...much closer than the one in Irvine. I picked up a large fresh squeezed orange juice and a Treasure Cave Crumbled Gorgonzola. AUSSIE MANGOES ! It was my lucky day they still had some Aussie Mangoes left...and on sale. I grabbed 3 of varying ripeness. We also bought 2 x one gal Crystal Geyser Alpine Natural Spring Waters. WE MAY BE BACK !
