Great coffee! The iced mocha had a hint of honey, which i did not hate. It was very good! Would try this place again when in the area. This shop does not have a drive thru.

I ordered "The April" and it was delicious. It's a cute little coffee shop. The interior is small and simple with very limited seating and good tunes. There is a nice outdoor patio with lighting and succulents. It's a nice little spot to chill or to meet up with a honey for a dose of caffeine.
Mad props to the owners for being very considerate and having a kids drink menu. Too many coffee shops are lacking that.

Ground Up has been on my list to try. I ordered the banana oat latte and hazelnut latte. Both were excellent! I am incredibly impressed with the quality of their beans. The latte tasted like actual coffee and not artificially sweetened. I can’t wait to go again. Would rate both lattes 10/10. Super friendly staff and easy to locate. Best latte I’ve had in LA in a LOOOONG time.

I was looking for a great coffee spot and saw that this has a perfect score. It definitely up there with the rating and solid customer service.

I ordered a large latte, extra shot espresso and with almond milk. It was the perfect temperature and the flavor was just right. The cookie that was freshly baked was one of the best chocolate chip cookies I had and really complimented my coffee. The banana bread is excellent and one of the best I’ve had, wish it had nuts, but great overall.

I’d definitely come back again and try their other menu items. Parking is limited to the street and it’s next to a solid golf course.

Great local gathering spot with good coffee and indoor & outdoor seating offerings. I got the vanilla cinnamon latte which was good. They didn’t have many pastry offerings, just some coffee cake, so more so just a coffee spot.

You can bring work here, but this is really a pace to catch up with friends or stop to grab a local brew.

20-minute parking is available right out front which is nice, but it might be more difficult to find a spot if you’re looking to stay awhile.

The baristas were nice. They also have a selection of books that you can check out which is fun.

Overall: 7/10. This coffee place is pretty good. I would recommend going here if you like good coffee and relaxed vibe.

***
Cappucino: 7/10. Their cappucino is pretty good. Their coffee machine seems to be top-notch. I just wish their coffee was a little more creamy and intense. Just to let you know that my 7/10 is pretty high). I rate Starbucks cappucino 3/10, Blue Bottle cappucino as 8/10, and my own espresso machine cappucino as 9/10 and 10/10 probably doesn't exist in this world.

Service: 8/10. Nice guy at the counter. My cappucino was ready swiftly. No wait. I just wish he could smile a bit. However, I respect seriousness and professionalism.

Interior: 6/10. Simple. Nice, relaxed vibe. Everything you need is there. Cool mural on their wall. They even have a terrace (facing a super busy street, tho). I like it, but... a little empty inside. Would be nice. Their chairs are basic plastic chairs with a lack of character. I wish they had a bar counter (or a long narrow table) at the center, with bar stools.

Prices: 8/10. Just right. Small good cappucino is $4.50. That seems kinda correct price nowadays.

Extra point: They have really nice reaxing music inside. Playing The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan and Etta James is always a big plus. Kudos here.

I really wanted to like it here!!
The energy is cute and very community forward, and I love the books to check out in the shop.

Unfortunately, everything we ordered was disappointing. The matcha latte just tasted like milk and it was $7! For less than that, I can get a WAY better matcha at other East LA coffee shops.

The honey latte was okay but not exciting and the banana bread was fine.

The barista was kinda rude when we asked a couple of questions on the specialty drinks. I wish it felt more welcoming!

A gem of a coffee shop in Montebello, I was looking for a nice place to meet up with a good friend and we found Ground Up Coffee half way between us. As I drove up, parking is located behind the shop and there are street parking (short term) around. The coffee shop seems to serve the locals and their coffee is very good!! My friend and I ordered their pour over coffee and we enjoyed the two different options (Las Iluvias wet & the yirgacheffe). Their baked good also seemed good; I had their tasty chocolate chip cookie. The barista that helped me was friendly and knowledgeable, and the shop was super clean and welcoming!

Though a little small, it seems to have enough space for a few people to sit inside and a few tables on the outside. This place is very well done and cozy, and I highly recommend you check them out. They know their coffee!
