Love the deli here. They have the best & most fairly priced sandwiches & poke in the city! Portions are double than what you’d get in FiDi for 70% of the price. 15$ for a three scoop poke thats so large that it can be split by two people. (Only when order fresh tho not the prepackaged ones)
We’ve also tried every sandwich and the Gus special always hits the spot.

Gus's Market on 4th Street is a gem in San Francisco! Their deli sandwiches are absolutely excellent—fresh ingredients, generous portions.

The staff is incredibly friendly and always manages to handle the long lines during busy lunch and dinner hours with impressive efficiency. You can tell they work hard to keep things moving, but it’s clear that adding more staff during peak times would help both the employees and the customers.

The overall vibe is welcoming, and it’s a great spot for grabbing a quick bite. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!

I’m delighted the Luma Hotel staff recommended Gus’s for a quick bite. I ordered a sandwich that was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The place was a fresh fruit paradise. So many options. I was disappointed with only being in town for one night and not being able to transport fruits back with me to Los Angeles.

Sandwich: Dutch Crunch bread, Boar’s Head peppercorn turkey meat, romaine lettuce, stone-ground mustard, red onions, pickles, roasted red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and pesto (on the side).

The selection of cheeses were in abundance. I’d definitely recommend trying this place at least once. It was swift and fresh.

I’m not one for writing bad reviews but this is the grimmest grocery store I’ve ever shopped at. It’s like the employees are getting paid to frown. Everything is more expensive than at Whole Foods, even their “sale” items. I’m all for gourmet overpriced stuff (Big fan of Bi-rite market here) but premium prices for not so premium stuff is laughable (e.g. pale looking rotisserie chicken that’s not even organic, for $7 more than Whole Foods). Do better, or at the very least, teach your employees how not to look so miserable.

A local market filled with organic products. Their produce section is fresh and colorful. Everything is well organized and easy to find. Their salad bar has some great take-out options.

This place needs some serious health inspection or need to look at their products carefully where they come from and how! I’ve seen tortillas has expirations date of last year, and I literally bought cheese yesterday (10/10/24) from this place so I could use it on my pasta today (10/11/24) we ended up finding mold already inside growing! The expiration date says next year Jan 2025, I just opened it and how can it go bad already ?!!

Everything you could ask for in a community market. Purchased several items to stock my hotel room. Made several trips to the market over the 4 days I was in San Francisco and enjoyed each and every visit. I did have to ask twice to have alcohol case opened but I wasn’t really in a big hurry.
