This is an adorable hotel in a precious part of the northern California coast. The property is small, but impeccably restored and well kept. The room has comfortable beds, great linens and a fireplace that welcomes you at night on a cold winter evening. The bathroom is big and well equipped and don’t let me forget the morning breakfast delivered to your door with a hot entry fresh juice, and hot coffee. Exceeded my expectations by far thank you to the staff.

We stayed a couple of days at the JD House. The house is super cute. There is a dining room and seating room you can use and a nice outside deck where you can sit and admire a beautiful garden. The room we stayed in, the First Mate (201) was small but functional. Bathroom is small and the shower is REALLY small. Nice bath products. Coffee maker in room but no fridge. Breakfast delivered to your room, which is nice. Having said all this, the bed is bad. The mattress is so uncomfortable, we didn’t get a restful sleep and woke up with stff backs. Nice linens and pillows but frankly, at $300/night, having a crappy bed is unacceptable.

I always look forward to my Mendocino getaways with a stay at the Inns of Mendocino. The warm fireplace, comfortable bed and spectacular views just a few steps from the town make this my favorite mini vacation locale. The delicious breakfast delivered to your door and afternoon happy hours also add to a most satisfying experience!

The Packard House was a charming Victorian. Our room was clean and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable! We loved the free wine and charcuterie hour at check in and the friendly concierge. Even the only downside - our fireplace was under repair - was made better by a generous partial refund before we even asked.

View from the room was fantastic. Would have preferred if wind and cheese would have been in the main house. Would like a walk-in shower next time. Room was clean. Nice bed and pillows. Fireplace was wonderful. Great location for shopping and eating.

Excellent location for hiking along the bluffs, dining, shopping, visiting historic Mendocino. Five star hospitality included local wine and charcuterie in the evening and a beautiful breakfast. The rooms are cozy and clean. The staff is friendly and easily accessible. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

This may have been our 5th stay at the Packard House, this time we booked the Garden Cottage with private entrance and door to the garden area. We absolutely love it. Usually we keep the windows open at night and thought that would be the downside to being on the lower floor open to the street but it during the day we kept the doors open for a nice cross breeze. The room included a couch, table, soaking tub and shower, King bed that was super comfortable, robes and mini fridge. Booked directly with the hotel on their site, very easy to pick your room and dates. Check in was a breeze. Location is perfect because we walked everywhere in town, store down the street, dinner, massage, stores and headlands. We had such a great stay we didn't want to leave. Best place to stay in Mendocino in my opinion. We have tried other places, it's just never been as great as the Packer House.
