Overall not a bad store. Jim is really helpful in finding things and always has a good story. However, a lot of his items are overpriced especially for how big of a stock he has. I've been to his store 5 or 6 times in the past few years and there's still some items that haven't sold because I know the price on them is wayyyyyy inflated. Big selection but expect to pay top dollar.

Looking at these reviews is just sad, if you can’t be man enough to put up with the jokes and wild stories about him entangling with his college girlfriends as a junior in high school then don’t be a customer? And by all means don’t discourage others into not coming. If you really don’t wanna get made fun of then bring a woman with you. He has a great respect for women. But in general the prices aren’t bad and the quality of the items isn’t bad at all. Jim has a good selection of actual surplus and reproduction gear. His knife and lighter selection isn’t bad either. I bought a knife to beat around and not care about for like $20 and the thing still hasn’t died yet. In conclusion though if your a snowflake then don't bother coming in but if you want to make friends with a crazy wild old guy then by all means come in and check things out because the dudes a staple and his shop is a must visit kinda place whether your just in town or a student going to Penn State.

This place was great. The owner knew exactly where the items were that I was searching for. Had a great conversation with the owner and even shared some laughs. All these negative reviews about the owner being mean or whatever else couldn’t be further from the truth. Those reviews just go to show how soft people have become.

Went to this store ages ago while attending Penn State. Even though I was a poor college kid, they were always nice to me. Bought an OD Army jacket and liner there, which I still have. It was a fun place to visit as a teenager...with lots of cool things only a young man can appreciate. It's funny to remember how excited a youthful kid could be over some combat boots or a USMC k-bar. As the for bs negative comments and accusations below, I NEVER experienced any of that. I think those reviews are more likely just leftists who hate our military and the US. Thank you Jim and John!

Fine merchandise, but the 70 year old worker started hitting on me. I’m 15 years old, and he was aware of this fact. Then he started talking about all of the women he got with in high school, which is strange because I’m in high school... Creeped out. Be careful here.

Edit: went here again with my also underage friends in hopes that he wasn’t here, and he proceeded to harass my friends as well. He told my 15 year old friend that he would look good in real short shorts and literally said ‘don’t worry, I won’t tell your mom.’ in a creepy voice. Then he literally started hollering and singing obnoxiously. There is recording evidence of this. Do not come here. You will get harrassed

Awesome place with great stuff. The guy was super nice. Very funny, polite, and helpful. He recommended the highest quality model of the type of item I was looking for, not the most expensive one, and the prices for all of them were extremely reasonable regardless. I'm not sure who these other people leaving negative reviews were dealing with, but it couldn't have been the older gentleman I encountered. Will definitely be back and will recommend it to others.

jim is one of the rudest people. he parks at a local business nearby and has treated those also that use the lot with extremely rude and inappropriate behavior. not only does he treat those not in his store like that, but also his customers. we have had many customers come in for issues that he’s caused. he also has threatened to “beat the **** out” of one of his customers along with calling the cops, because he asked for someone to fix it at jim’s army and navy.

0/10 not a good time. vibes are totally off. do not recommend.

xoxo, kisses!

The self proclaimed owner, who I am guessing is Jim, was extremely rude and short with me. I asked for a particular item, alice pack straps, in his "used goods" surplus store and he immediately demeaned me by saying I didn't know what they were or why I would need them (U.S. Army vet who has used an alice pack for over 10 years and wanted extra straps for another pack). He proceeded to pull them out of a box of dozens of ratty alice pack straps and hands me one. As I am asking how much they are he pulls them out of my hands and starts putting them away. He high balled the price at double what they were worth, so I told him they were a little higher than I'd like to pay so he kicked me out of the store. I may have been in the store for a total of 45 seconds before he told me to leave. I asked why he was being so rude, since he owns a surplus store full of used items, I am sure I am not the first person to attempt to negotiate a price. He started using profanities and walked me out of the store. I let him know that he should learn to deal with customers in an appropriate manor, I was polite and merely asking about the price of the item. He was rude and posturing for me to leave as soon as I stepped in the door. I am not sure what about my appearance/demeanor made him feel threatened, but he obviously did not want my business.

The store was empty when I walked in, and now I know why I was the only "customer."

DO NOT RECOMMEND SHOPPING IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT!
