When I was a kid growing up on Naples Street, this store was called Mary’s. You opened the door and walked down two steps, the counter right in front of you, and all the candy the eye of a child could feast his eyes on. $.25 bottle of Click Root Beer in the cooler, you could win money under the cap! We bought pimple balls for 15 cents, and when they inevitably split in two, we played half ball. My Dad used to send me to Mary’s for Salem Lights, they were 75 cents, leaving me with a quarter from the dollar he gave me. You could buy a bag of candy back then for a quarter.

That was 50 years ago! 😬 Sheesh… to say it like that… “FIFTY YEARS ago.” 🤣

Anyway, I don’t know much about the store now, therefore I cannot give it a fair rating. I was just reminiscing about the old neighborhood.

This store is stealing EBT benefits from needy families. I have no idea how they got my card information. I’ve never been there. There’s a fraud operation going on at these little bodegas. This is one of many stores stealing benefits without the physical card. A police report has been filed.
