My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The hotel is large and impressive—definitely has that “wow” factor when you first walk in.

We were greeted by friendly staff and even received a small welcome gift, which was a thoughtful touch. Our room was on the smaller side, but cozy, with a big TV and a decent view.

However, the bathroom was a bit of a letdown—the toilet was extremely small and uncomfortable for a full-grown adult.

There was also some construction going on during the week, and unfortunately, we could hear the noise from our room, which took away from the relaxing atmosphere.

Dining was another mixed experience. The resort restaurants were quite pricey, and we were disappointed to find out some were closed on Sundays and Mondays—the exact days we were there. We ended up using DoorDash instead.

The pool area was beautiful, and we especially liked the lazy river. That said, it closed at 6 PM, which felt a little too early and didn’t fit well with our busy schedule.

Overall, it was an okay stay. Hopefully, checkout tomorrow goes well to end the trip on a high note.

My wife was here for a conference the weekend of March 27-30, so my son and I tagged along. I was truly impressed with everything from the venue, to the room, to the pools. We are middle class but felt that the money was well spent. My son loved the pools. And it was surprisingly easy to get into downtown San Antonio. My only knock was parking which forced you to walk up hill (and in the rain in our case). Overall a fantastic experience!

Wow—what an incredible stay at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like VIPs. They surprised us with a thoughtful upgrade, which was such a kind and unexpected touch.

The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous, but the real magic was in how much fun our family had! Our two boys (ages 2 and 5) were in heaven splashing around in the water park, floating down the lazy river, and exploring the beautiful grounds. My husband and I loved that there was something for everyone—great food, beautiful views, and plenty of space to unwind.

But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our experience special. It’s rare to find such outstanding hospitality these days, and we are so grateful! Thank you, JW Marriott San Antonio, for an amazing family getaway!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the JW Marriot Resort! We went during Spring Break Week. It was nice and warm, and not very crowded. The resort is quite large. So even with a lot of people there, nothing was ever crowded. There are several pools, so there is always an open chair. The service around the pool was excellent. They were very attentive and we didn't wait long for food or drinks. There is an adult pool, family pools, water slides, a spa pool, and my personal favorite...the lazy river. When we arrived we were given a voucher for either 2 free glasses of wine or their signature cocktail, which was very good and I thought was a really nice touch. The breakfast buffet was so good. The on site pizza cafe was also delicious. The pool side food was good too. There is also a Starbucks on site. I honestly would not have changed a thing. It was definitely a great visit and I would love to go back.

This is a nice hotel to stay at if you have a convention or business event or tournament there. It's quite a ways from Riverwalk or downtown San Antonio , so plan on having a car and paying their outrageous parking rate if you want to do anything away from the hotel. They seem to be set up for business events and conventions. Sadly, their food services which were great for catered meals were inadequate for the crowd that was there when we visited. With supposedly five restaurants, some of which are bars not really restaurants and Starbucks of course, they literally ran out of food the first day we went for lunch. This is poor planning since they can know how many people are scheduled to attend whatever business events were being held that day and how many people are staying at rooms in the hotel. The setup is pretty nice to get around this large hotel complex and the exhibition rooms and meeting rooms. As noted, the parking is outrageously expensive for the city, and their automated parking control doesn't seem to work very well reading the QR codes from their own paper parking tickets, so every time I came out of the parking lot there were cars backed up with the attendant having to come out often help scan things or use an override or whatever. If you're going to charge more than 30 bucks a day for parking, could you at least set things up so I don't have to wait 10 minutes to get through the gate to leave?
I really liked the catered food for the business event I attended. Hotel food services did a great job of providing nutritious trendy and healthy catered breakfast and lunch. It's a shame the regular restaurants weren't ready for the crowd that was there.

The JW Marriott San Antonio is a very large and very nice place for a conference. I attended a rural healthcare leadership conference with a group of people and enjoyed the stay.|The check-in process was very smooth. You can check-in on the Marriott Bonvoy app and get a key or mobile key when arriving. The staff was very pleasant at check-in and throughout the stay. |The rooms are very nice. I have a king room with a very small balcony (Room 3133). The room looked out over a courtyard by the conference center. The bed was very comfortable. There was a small couch that had high armrests, making it a little uncomfortable for sitting. But that was minor. Housekeeping was there daily, unless I said I didn't need anything.|For a hearty meal, I recommend High Velocity, which is the sports bar. We ate there two times and the food was great. The popcorn shrimp was delicious. I had the grilled chicken sandwich one night and the macaroni and cheese with brisket the second. Both times it was more than I could eat, meaning big portions of good food.|We had breakfast one day at Cibolo Moon. The servers were very friendly. The food was very good. I had an omelet with brisket and the works, along with toast and potatoes. Once again the portion was big, but it was very good. |All of the workers I had contact with were very friendly. Whether it was the waiting staff, people at the front desk, housekeeping, or those working in the conference center, they were all friendly and made you feel welcome.|I can't comment on the pool area as I didn't get to utilized it. I walked around it and it looks like it would be a fun place to relax.|In a nutshell, I give this one a thumbs up.

The JW Marriott Hill country hotel is amazing, love the view, the activities and the pool area. The food and drinks are amazing.

Except for one thing, the cleaning service in the room are really bad. Dust everywhere for what you’re paying. You expect a better service.

Also, when the cleaning service goes on a daily basis, they don’t vacuum at all or refill any of your soaps in the shower and I got skipped once as well.

Other than that, the hotel is a pretty good place to stay with family and have fun .

Just wish they can up their cleaning service .

Our stay at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa was truly exceptional and exceeded all expectations! From the moment we drove onto the stunning, immaculately kept grounds, we knew we were in for a treat when they Put on the Grench for Christmas with Ice sculptors.

The resort truly captures the beauty and relaxing atmosphere of the Texas Hill Country.

Our room was spacious, luxurious, spotlessly clean, and offered fantastic amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a perfect night's sleep after busy days.

The amenities here are world-class. The River Bluff Water Experience is absolutely incredible – so much fun for all ages with the lazy river, slides, and pools! The Breakfast is delicious, with amazing restaurants and views.

There's something for everyone, whether you want non-stop activity or peaceful relaxation. The TPC golf courses looked spectacular as well.

What really stood out, though, was the service. Every staff member we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to help, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay.

This resort is perfect for a family, couples getaway, or even a luxurious solo retreat. The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa is totally awesome!
