The one star is for the beautiful dresses they carry but the customer services is bad, I was in a lot of stress and this experience gave headaches. I arrived and found my dream dress and ordered it, the ladies that helped me find it were so kind and Sweet. However supposedly will arrive in October but the others never called so I have to send an email. Got a response that they'll update me, they didn't after 1 week. I called and they said they'll send an email about the order and will call me for an update. 2 weeks later nothing. Then it's November but I'm moving to NYC on November 27, and planned to take the dress with me. So I called again and the lady was kinda rude by saying "oh it's you again" and all I asked about my dress delivery date and she said they'll send an email about which I thought they already have weeks ago. So I decided to go to their new Boutique in person, at first the owner seemed bothered that I arrived without an appointment but I needed my dress to arrive fast. Finally the dress was delivered but it came 2 sizes bigger. I was literally distraught, my dress is 2 sizes bigger and in 3 weeks I'm moving to NYC. The girl who altered my dress calmed my stress and actually altered it beautifully and I even made a post about her work. When the day came that I could finally take it home, which is literally 1 week before I move, the owner said "you're not taking the dress today are you?" and told her yes I am. And me and my mom took it, I moved to NYC, we steam the dress ourselves and it looked beautiful.

The dress is beautiful, they carry beautiful dresses, updated their place beautifully however their customer service needs a lot of work. I hope no other bride will go through the same experience.

If I could leave zero stars I would. This place is despicable. The amount of stress they have added to my best friend (the bride) who literally purchased her gown from them is crazy. On top of that, they are refusing to refund all of the bridesmaids for dresses that were ordered and won’t be here in time for the wedding. Everyone said not to go through Madeline’s. Now we know why. So sad for my friend and can’t believe people would do such shady business.

From the very first meeting to dropping off my dress to be cleaned I am very happy and grateful for Sherri and all of her staff. Finding the perfect dress for me was easy with the one on one help from the owner herself. A very personal and close to heart experience! My dress was meant for me and Sherri knew that, my heart was so happy! Everyone in my family loved my dress and the staff here. Amazing shop and I couldn't recommend all future brides here more! Brides, the tux process is also a BREEZE with the amazing hands on help of Sherri! My husband was so thrilled and happy with the service here. Everything picked was so personal. 100% would recommend Madeleine’s to any bride in search of their dream dress!

Growing up, I always admired the dresses in the window when I was in Old Town. So, when I got engaged, I knew I would find my dress here. Unfortunately, that dream quickly unraveled, starting with my first appointment in March. An employee made uncomfortable comments about my body and engagement timeline. When I didn’t like a dress, she insisted I was wrong. I almost left to find another store, but I found the perfect dress and decided to stick it out.

She measured me and said I was between a size 4 and 6. My mom and I suggested ordering the size 6 since it’s easier to take a dress in, but she assured us the owner, Sherri, would oversee everything, and the correct size would be ordered.

I needed the dress by the end of October and was told it would arrive by mid-July, meeting the three-month alteration timeline. By mid-July, we’d heard nothing. When my mom called, she was rudely told they would only speak to the bride.

The dress didn’t arrive until 8/29, and I went in the first Saturday of September. Thankfully, I met a kind employee, Misty, who told me a size 4 had been ordered. When I tried it on, it was so tight around my hips that we could barely zip it. Misty remeasured me and found the first employee had measured me incorrectly.

Sherri came in and assured me they’d make it right. She expressed frustration that I hadn’t contacted her earlier about my experience but was glad I hadn’t left a review. They found about ¾ of an inch on each side that could be let out. Sherri also said she had ordered a size 6 in the same dress, which should arrive in four days.

That evening, Sherri called to say she’d ordered a size 8, not 6. She insisted I try it on, though it didn’t make sense since the size 4 fit everywhere except my hips. I reluctantly agreed, but Tuesday passed with no word from her.

After a few more days of silence, we called the store again—now just six weeks from my wedding. We learned the size 8 had been in the store for a week, but Sherri, who was out of town, insisted she needed to be present, pushing me closer to my wedding day. After multiple calls with Astrid, we secured an appointment for the next day with the alterations person to see if the size 4 could be adjusted.

I took time off work, but when we arrived, Astrid pulled out the size 8. I explained I only wanted to assess the size 4, but she told me the alterations person wasn’t there, despite what we’d been told. Astrid wanted to send photos of me in both dresses to Sherri, which I declined. I asked to take my fully paid-for dress to another alterations place, but Astrid refused. After demanding she call Sherri, I spoke with her directly. She was condescending but arranged for me to visit CK Alterations that evening.

The alterations process was another disaster. They stained the dress, misplaced the bustles, ruined the hemline, and positioned the cups so poorly that they stuck out. One week before the wedding, I had to involve Sherri again due to the state of the dress. When my mom called, Sherri agreed to fix it but began questioning her about a review my mother-in-law had left, which was incredibly unprofessional.

We returned the dress to the store one week before the wedding. Sherri told my mom to pick it up on Wednesday, but when she arrived, the dress wasn’t ready—they hadn’t even fixed the cups. Sherri began working on it in front of her.

I tried the dress on at home, and it was somehow worse. It’s so tight around my hips that sitting is nearly impossible, while the bust is so loose I don’t feel secure. This wasn’t how it fit at my last try-on, nor should anything have been altered. The cups look poorly cut and are still visible when I wear the dress. With two days to go before my wedding, we no longer trust Sherri or her team to fix it. My mom will attempt to sew the cups herself, and I can only hope the dress stretches enough for me to get through the night.

Sherri, you’ve ruined what should have been a beautiful, joyous experience. You’ve more than earned the one-star review you were so worried about.
