Had just recently moved to California and was looking for a book store to have a sense of familiarity. This was my first stop and I couldn't be more happy with my experience. With my budget I usually get books used, but I made an exception this time. Had fantastic conversations with Sunny, who listened closely to my interests and recommended a whole stack of things they thought I'd love. Walked out happy and with Piranesi by Susanna Clarke in my hand. The book was just what a needed- I flew right through it and have been propelled into continuing my reading journey with new energy.
Love this shop and it's knowledgeable, kind staff! Thanks guys!

What a great little bookstore! Loved the assortment of books, the curated shelves of related or seasonal books but most of all loved the staff! Great conversation & enjoyed their recommendations.

Have had nothing but A+ experience at this bookstore. The vibe is welcoming and calm. The staff is wonderful, knowledgeable, and so welcoming. I’ve bought a few books here as they make such great gifts with their unique titles. When I can I will always make a stop in this store to support. Don’t buy from Amazon if you can buy from here. Support local small business.

A lovely little bookshop tucked behind the Wells Fargo in the far corner. I would have never seen it or even known there was a bookstore at all had it not been for a chalkboard sign in a busier part of the parking lot.

If I could give this shop more stars, I would - what a charming bookstore! Don’t let its small size fool you - not only do they have the latest releases, but they also have a wide range of genres for all ages: fiction, non-fiction, cooking, travel, self-help, career, history, classics, you name it and the curation of their inventory, my goodness! Not only are there many good reads (and not overwhelming like the shelves can be at chain stores or online), but they also seem to take great care in which variants of books they stock, which is so refreshing to see. Take the classics for instance. They have versions that are dressed in illustrated jackets and some even with stamped designs in their hardbacks, gorgeous! There’s also an adorable reading nook with fluffy pillows in the back, as well as floor cushions near the children’s and young adult sections. HOW ADORABLE.

My personal favorite? Keep an eye out for little bookmarks sticking up out of some of the books - these are staff-reviewed reads that also include recommendations for similar stories and authors. Absolutely delightful!

You can tell this place is run by book lovers and it’s now one of my favorite places. First time here and will definitely be back again! Prices are at market-value / affordable, what you can expect to pay for a book at Barnes and Noble for instance. So take a stroll along the beach and hop in for a good book or more when you’re in the area, this place doesn’t disappoint!

NOTE: we’re originally from NYC, moved out to LA a few yrs ago - millennials. So we’re familiar with independent bookshops and this has to be one of the best curated shops with the most personable staff we’ve seen in a while, there truly is something for everybody 🙌 Shop local folks!

Do visit this corner bookstore when in Malibu village. The staff are lovely and helpful. Found 2 books there before taking the bus back to Hawthorne and will revisit when I’m back in the area. Support your independent bookstore.
