The five stars are only for the elegant and friendly shop assistant, Celine, and the great fashion the store carries.
In such special period, many fashion store went bankrupted because of more and more people start shopping online. However, online shopping has it's disadvantages. For example, just by knowing your size without trying it on yourself, and reading the description without touching the materials and seeing the colors, the look from imagination with how it looks in reality could be very different. Also, being assisted by a stylist/assistant can be more helpful on finding the right stuff in a short time.. Other than the product itself, these could be the reason to make an actual store remain it's customers and reputation.
What disappointed me:
1.The boss of this shop judges by seeing me started looking from the on sale items, so she kept reminding me when I touched those are not on sale as if those I wouldn't be able to afford.
2. After my first fitting, the boss's face changed immediately when hearing I said the sizes were either too small or too big, or the style was too much on me. While Celine never gave up and always trying to find me things that I might like with a warm smile.
3. Second time to the fitting room, I felt pressured and guilty by thinking about that face. Unfortunately, this time I liked it and the size was right, but considering it was a top and costs 600 dollars after discount which I can only wear at special occasions, I finally choose to put it back.
4. I started to discover more from the new arrivals rack, with Celine's help, I found some interesting garments there. So I went to the fitting room for the third time. As soon as I went in, I heard the boss was whispering to Celine," Is she still trying more?..", and then she arrives in front of the fitting area, started to check the clothes I picked, and she took one skirt and told me that's not my size and there's no good size for me in the store for that item, and she just directly put it back without letting me try. In fact, I took that piece because I was sure it's my size. I have never experience such service in any other stores in United States.. I started to try one shirt I picked with a shocked heart, and when I came out, she stared at me in the mirror and went," do you like it", and how she's asking doesn't sound like really wondering the opinion from her customer, but more like pushing on me to say "yes I do", I didn't say I like it or not directly but I expressed my honest feeling on how it looks on myself, and willing to try the other piece with same design but in different color. I design clothes and I know very clearly that sometimes same look with different colors can give a totally different mood, and how the color combines with our skin tones also matters. However, not until I reached the other shirt, she took it away from the room and said, " if you didn't like the white one then this one you won't like it either, because they are the same..". I totally took four items and she took two away by her own decision, I was confused am I a customer at this moment? I turned to Celine and asked if I can still try those on, and my face finally got tired with the guilty smile towards the boss. I'm glad she finally agreed and brought back to me. So the funny part was, the one she said not my size, it fits perfectly after I put on, and the one she said I wouldn't like, because of a different color it looked really great on me.. And the last piece I tried also very beautiful, so I had to make a decision among three items. At one second I almost wanted to take all three home, after calming my excitement down as well as the complex feeling the boss gave to me, I decided to buy the most functional one that I am sure I will wear a lot, from Marc Le Bihan.
At the end, I am happy that I purchased something that really looks good on myself. But without Celine it wouldn't happen, I would end up with walking out of the store because of the boss doesn't let me try the clothes.. I would be very careful shopping there when the boss is in.
