I came by looking for a particular ornament. Last week I went to the other one on McHenry. The ladies there help me. I was looking for babies for Christmas and I was looking for other stuff and they were very very friendly and they helped me and they found the stuff that I was looking for. Today I went to the one in McHenry village. I was looking for a particular ornament. I looked and looked and I could not find it. There were two ladies working older ladies. I asked one of them what I was looking for if they had it or can be in another place of the store Etc. Her response was if you cannot find it that means we don't have it. She didn't bother to get up to help me. The other lady was making phone calls, calling customers letting them know that their merchandise was in the store for them to come and pick it up, that if they did not come to pick it up they're going to ship it back where they came from. After the second lady got off the phone leaving messages on phones, she made a comment saying I cannot believe how many times I had to call these people and they're still not coming up to pick up their merchandise. She was calling several customers. I have been a manager in retail stores. You don't make comments like that out loud when you have customers in your store. That is not very good customer service. This is McHenry village. It should be a lot nicer than that when it comes to customer service. I have been a long-time customer when my daughters were born and I had every Barbie for every year. Someone should talk to these ladies that when they make phone calls they should not make comments out loud where customers can hear them. There was another lady shopping. She thought it was kind of rude the sales person making comments after each phone call, but she made a comment. Maybe they're having a bad day. You never know what people go through. I understand it is not a perfect world but you are there to work with people. It's called customer service And if you're going to make comments like that, wait until there's no one in the store.

I am so happy to have found a Hallmark store. They seem to be closing up all over. This one did not disappoint! Full of wonderful cards and at reasonable prices as well! But be prepared to spend a little time. Not because service is slow. But because it's a pretty large shop and there are so many cards and wonderful lil treasures, you'll want to browse. I live in Manteca, but it's worth the short drive.

I think it's a good store. About 5 years ago ,it wasn't friendly towards people of color.

What a selection! I was hunting fora special card to celebrate a family member's accomplishment, and the staff was very helpful, without hovering. Not just cards but gift, themed items, stuffed toys, angel ceramics and more. I got some Christmas shopping done early. I also learned that this Hallmark shop is independently owned and operated vs. 'belonging' to corporate, which for me makes it even more important to support them. I have seen so many small businesses fail in the past 2 years, that I strongly support 'shop local' - and with their cards, collectibles & more, this is a great place to support.

My visit yesterday was not a pleasant one. I could not understand the cashier so I made a comment about not liking masks because I have a hard time understanding. The other cashier made a comment that wearing a mask has nothing to do with hearing ( this was said in a rude manner) I responded that when being deaf (partially) does. I will mot be going back to this store!

HIGHLY reccmond amy's hallmark on mchenry. if you're looking for SQUISHMALLOWS do NOOOTTT come here at all. don't even consider it. paid $52 for a Grogu squish just to find out Costco sells them for $20 and regular squishmallows for $10 while hallmark sells them for $25-30. called within 20 minutes of buying it and I couldn't return it because i "touched" it, as if i didn't touch everything else in the store without buying it. I totally get y'all need to make money, but going to local Costco to buy them out and raise the price by THEREE times is absurd. You should absolutely be ashamed and embarrassed taking advantage of your customers like that while there's a whole entire pandemic going on. I see why you have 2.5 stars, you don't deserve any of them for the way you rip people off for supporting your business. I wish i could y'all absolutely zero stars because i would with no hesitation.

Horrible service, and overpriced items. The employees were rude and so wasteful with my time. They were condescending and their return policies are completely ridiculous. It’s no wonder why these stores are going out of business. I will never again step foot in this Hallmark location because of my experience. I would caution anyone considering spending their money here.
