I recently visited a Toyota dealership for routine maintenance on my vehicle, and the experience was deeply disappointing. During the service, the dealership managed to damage all four of my car's wheels. While the damage wasn't severe, it was noticeable and unacceptable.

Moreover, I was asked to sign the vehicle release documents before the service was completed, which is highly irregular. I insisted on inspecting my vehicle first, resulting in an additional wait.

When I pointed out the damage, the dealership offered to repair it at their expense, but I declined, unable to trust them after such negligence. I escalated the issue to the general manager, the service manager, and the customer relations manager. Only the latter responded, proposing either a repair or a $200 compensation. I chose the latter as a minimal acknowledgment of their fault.

Throughout this ordeal, the professionalism was lacking. No one apologized, which is a basic courtesy in such situations. Additionally, after being promised a check, I had to follow up repeatedly, only to discover it had not been sent due to the responsible person being on vacation. I had to go back to the dealership to collect it in person.

To those reading this, I advise against using this Toyota dealership. Always inspect your vehicle before signing any documents. My experience highlights a significant lapse in customer service and professionalism at this location.

I took my 2023 Prius prime in because every time I would drive there would be a noise of something dragging and I wasn't sure what it was. I took it in to get looked at and right away I was greeted and checked in. Soon after dropping my car off I got a call from DOLLY about what the issue was and they explained to me what it was. I got it fixed and now my car runs great. I definitely will be returning here & bringing my other vehicles in to her. The rest of the staff was very friendly and efficient as well.
Make sure you book your appointments and ask for Dolly.

Went in for car service - Check engine light was on. Service person tried to suggest a major tune up 1K based on the car's high mileage. WTH? The car was a certified pre-owned vehicle that I acquired with high mileage. I've only driven approximately 16,000 miles in 4 years. I get regular oil changes. I don't need brakes. Fluid levels are normal. I know all of this because I take my car to an Independent Car business on a regular basis. So to try and squeeze 1,000 dollars out of me based on mileage alone was unreal. I just went in because I saw the check engine light. So tell me about my Check Engine light! Besides, I already knew why the light was on...I just wanted the dealership to confirm what I already knew. This place honestly doesn't care and only wants the money. Pay over $200 for nothing!
Go somewhere else! Run from this place!

Ask for service adviser Alex. Great guy who always keeps my car running great. Goes out of his way to take care of his customers.. friendly and super helpful. He is one of the reasons why I go back to them time and time and time again. Any issues or concerns he takes care of immediately.. their work is guaranteed which helps one sleep better at night.

Very poor service, I've dealt with this dealers ship for the past five years, services use to be excellent professional friendly, for the past two years services department has went down. I made appoint and wait 3hrs and services person (Dave) is extremely rude. If you looking to buy a car from this dealers DON'T there will over charge you or sell you a car with a 60 day warranty...took my niece to look a new car Camry and corolla why she quoted 530 for a car not...really. a whale of a deal, I dont think so a whale of a ripp off.

Ripped on and just want to warn YOU about Toyota Service Centers!!

My close friends today had a very hard lesson learned from going to Marina del Rey and Culver City Toyota Service Centers ... Lesson learned: NEVER take your car for any repair (except warranty) to a dealer, especially the Toyota Service Center in Marina del Rey or Culver City.

When she went in for what was to be a basic warranty check, she ended up being sold a "big-time bill of goods" when they found a screw in between her tire treads, they then told her she needed a whole new tire and a front end alignment. (Yes, what should had been a simple $35 tire patch for relatively brand new tires ended up costing her $410!)

When she shared with me what happened and how she just dropped her car off, I asked her to cancel the service immediately and go back and get your car. This should not had been a problem since she was told by Billy the service manager 30 minutes earlier that they would need several hours to repair because of other jobs. Once she called Billy, the Toyota Service Center manager, he told her that her car was ready, aligned and washed and that it was too late to cancel the service.

I decided to pick her and her husband up and drive directly to Marina del Rey Toyota service center where I spoke to Billy . I mentioned to him that I never knew a tire in such good condition with a nail just between tread lines to need a whole new tire, much less an alignment too. Billy's response was that it definitely needed a new tire; and our policy is to align cars every 12k miles whether they need it or not, which I totally disagreed. Regardless and because Billy was not going to back down from his stance, I said I wanted the actual tire that needed repairing so I can't take it to another independent tire store for an opinion to see if I was missing something.

After this useless discussion with Billy, we still had to wait another 45 minutes because (yes, you hear me right) their car was not even done... Yes, makes me even question Toyota in Marina Del Rey's integrity further!

Afterwards, we took the actual tire to another tire dealer and requested the lead tire technician of tire repairs to assess the tire condition....without knowing who or why. Long and behold, their tire expert said this tire can can be fixed with a simple patch as the whole is clearly within the tread area and considered safe place to patch a tire, especially in the great tire condition.... See pics below of actual tire and also look inside tire pic that shows that it's was in excellent condition. When we then explained what they Toyota Service Center of Marina del Rey and Culver City said, he reemphasized they "absolutely YOU DID NOT NEED A NEW TIRE" . He went on to share what I've know about getting cars serviced at any dealer run center like the Toyota Service Center in Marina del Rey, never get anything but warranty related items done at a dealership. You will pay 2-3x more than another competent repair shop and they will upsell you too services you do not need, like what Marina del Rey Toyota Service Center did to my friends.

So what are the lessons learned? Definitely do not trust Marina del Rey Toyota service center for any service work you may need! I'm going to add Culver City's Toyota Service Center (Oscar, their service manager) because they're the ones that referred my friend to the Marina del Rey location, including pre-ordering her tire. Both of them should have active responsibly and they did not.

As I do not own a Toyota, but encourage you to be careful! Folks, don't let these dealers upsell you through fear. There are plenty of places in the Marina with far better service centers for your automobile than these two Toyota Service Centers.

Came across this place while searching on google. Very professional staff. Thought I needed a rack but turned out it was control arms, an alignment and tie rods. Spent less money than other shops were offering to service it for. Definitely coming back!!!
