Beautiful and will kept! We loved the 50's dinner with the "old" music. It's a great walk back in time to see how Modesto has changed. If you have a few hours, I recommend too check it out. Definitely go downstairs.

The quaint little gift shop inside of the visitor's center is bursting with festive treasures.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The beautifully restored Victorian mansion does not disappoint. The knowledgeable tour guides give an enjoyable window into life of the upper class in Modesto.
I would highly recommend anyone visiting Modesto make a stop to see this hidden gem.

Catch the short movie explaining the history of the McHenry family and their activity in Modesto before starting the tour. Showings in the adjacent visitor center start 10 minutes before the tours, which begin on the half hour between 12-4. You can enjoy a cup of tea and cakes while watching! The docent led tour was very informative about the mansion and its furnishings including its multiple restorations. I would have enjoyed a bit more on the family’s history and how they influenced the turn of the century development of this area. Worth the 90 minutes spent here.
