My partner and I wanted something special for our wedding rings. Nothing mass-manufactured, with ethically sourced materials - that was really important to us! When I found out about Meeka, we decided to walk in and check it out. They didn't have any in the store at that moment but Monica happened to be wearing one, so she showed it to us and it was so beautiful in person. Monica gave us some insight on the artist: Hannah Blount. She and Sarah scheduled us an appointment to come back and see more examples of the ring and get sized, which went smoothly. A few weeks later we had our gorgeous rings! Hannah Blount's work is gorgeous and the people working at Meeka are so kind and helpful. To me, Meeka jewelry is the opposite of traditional or mainstream bling. The artist’s touch is unmistakable and a big part of the charm and value. Though chic and fashionable for today, I think this jewelry has a creative line harkening back to little shops in 1800s Paris or eastern Europe and artists of the Art Deco, Art Nouveau, or the 1850s English Arts and Crafts traditions. Meeka jewelry would be great with a fancy gold lamé or red satin dress… But it would be just as lovely if your idea of fancy dress is a roomy silk shirt, a sleek skirt and fun heels. Though, maybe the best thing about this jewelry is you don’t have to wait for dress up to enjoy it. It’s perfect with just about everything, including simply jeans and a sweater. You’ll also find service and kindness at Meeka. I’ve happily made a number of purchases while never being able to visit the shop. You’ve no need to worry, they will be sure you are pleased!

I love the uniqueness of the jewelry at this fantastic boutique! So much fine jewelry looks cookie cutter but not the gorgeous baubles here. I love that the pieces selected for the boutique are handcrafted by artists and are not mass produced. A lot of the work looks inspired by nature. The earrings I got from there are birds that are holding egg shaped turquoise gems.

The owner, Monika, also displays her work in the shop. I met Monika while shopping there and she's super friendly and able to help you find whatever you need. And if you can't find it, she can make it for you. She let me know that she can create custom jewelry pieces. I have no need for custom jewelry right now but it sounds so fancy. If you need to find a unique gift or deserve a gift yourself, go see Monika at Meeka!
