I was up on Beach Street seeing about this, that and the other guy and passed by Michaelis Food Store and remembered when Tony Ascomboni told me how great the sandwiches are there. Well, I stopped everything and went in for a sando, and let me tell you...The huge turkey sandwich I had was so good..I went and got another one! And, now I don't have to eat until tomorrow! 5 stars all day long. ☆☆☆☆☆

Fresh and delicious with such a friendly team!
Amazing local sandwiches / subs. The bread is from Boutin just down the road. Delicious sourdough loaves.
The meat is Boar’s Head and a great selection.
Really good portion sizes and all served with a pleasure and a smile.
Very much recommended if you are in Fisherman’s Wharf.

Great sandwiches and a convenient little corner store with friendly people! I’ve had the “Giants”, “Al Capone”, and “Porky Pig”, and they’re all really delicious. This has become my go-to lunch spot when I’m in the mood for a sandwich.

Sandwiches aren't as good with the new owners. Stale bread, ratios are off, etc. Still pretty good and OK price, but nothing close to the gem this place used to be.

If you’re in the Fisherman’s Wharf area and are near Ghirardelli Square and need a quick lunch, Michaelis is the joint! The sandos here are awesome and you can customize them any way you like.

This spot is a corner store with a deli set up, so order your Sando at the counter then head down a block to the Aquatic Park for lunch with a view!

Service wise, it’s friendly and efficient! Jay’s the man!!!

I love this shop and always stop by when I'm in the area. They have an amazing staff and the Woman Sahba who works there is one of the kindest and most authentic people I've met in California. Top quality people!

Lovely neighbourhood convenience store. Friendly staff. I got the “Giants” sandwich with everything on it on their recommendation. It was really good and they seem very proud to use Boar’s Head branded meat. The only slight downside was the balance of flavour with the pickles made it hard to taste the pastrami. Otherwise it was great.

I wanted to try the meatball sandwich and headed down there at 9am but they weren’t open and I had waited 10mins. I suspect someone had something on, nothing too drastic.

I had the blueberry muffins twice and it was lovely and moist, not too sweet but sweet enough. A good size too.

I noticed they had the usual cereals and traveller things people need in a pinch. The usual crisps and sodas but also alcohol. Candy and snacks there too.

I forgot to take photos. Sorry. [edit: I managed to find one of the blueberry muffin because I was so happy I bought it the day before in case I was hungry early in the morning from jet lag. I was!]

All in all a good experience and only a block from where I was staying.

I came to San Francisco on holiday from the UK as part of a road trip few days, and seeing as this was one of the few convenience stores near my hotel, I went to check it out. Was not disappointed.

Really friendly staff, the lady Morning was such a sweetheart, always loved seeing and chatting with her. A great selection of food and drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and great tasting sandwiches.

5 stars from me, I absolutely have to visit again the next time i'm in San Francisco ✌️
