I love their barbeque chicken but lately it has been so salty to the point my kids can't eat it. Not once but two three times, I told the cook while picking it up but he kinda shrugged it off. I come all the way from San Jose to get your grilled chicken please make it like the way you used too

Really love the BBQ chicken but it's getting saltier and saltier every time I go, so we can't eat it anymore. Oh well. Wish they would just sell the marinating sauce without the salt so I can decide how much salt I want in it. Sigh.

Love this place. Great BBQ chicken, with rice, beans, salsa, and tortillas. It's inside the Michoacan Produce Market... not the little tacqueria next door, and not the Chavez's Market. All chicken orders are "to go" only, there is no seating. The market also has a lot of other interesting foods and beverages. A great place, once you find it and know where it is!

This place has the best grilled chicken in the entire bay area! You would never guess by the looks of it. It is located at the end of Middlefield Rd. right before Atherton. It is a hole in the wall grocery store. You have to go to the back counter and ask for a chicken. It comes chopped with tortillas and salsa and the also offer beans and rice if you desire. The combination of the delicious marinade and the mesquite grill really makes the chicken so special. Warning: you might want to get a second chicken, because you may not make it home without getting into the first one!

Only good thing there is the rotisserie chicken. That’s as far as it goes. Guy at the register is very untrustworthy. When you are paying, please do yourself a favor and double check the final quantity he’s charging you. That is no way to do business.

Can’t believe they have pollo asado. I passed by this place a few times until I decided to try and it’s really good, juicy and flavorful! It’s kinda weird that they sell grilled chicken in a store but it’s cheap and the sides blew my mind.

This market sells amazing pollo al carbon. For $20, you get a whole chicken with sides of rice, beans, tortillas, and salsa. If you just want the chicken its $15. You order at the meat counter to the right.

The chicken was seasoned well throughout, and the skin had a nice dark char. I tend to avoid charred skin because of the carcinogens, but I couldn’t resist some of this goodness.

The dark meat was juicy, and I even enjoyed the white meat since it wasn’t too dry. The rub they use has nice brightness too from lime or lemon.

The salsa had good medium heat and smoky flavor. I will ask for more salsa next time, as the amount they gave wasn’t enough for the whole chicken.

The beans were on the liquidy side. They had large (poblano?) pepper pieces that I liked. The rice was way overcooked but had good flavor.

The corn tortillas are the kind you get with soups like menudo. It’s not the best for making tacos, so you just eat it separately like bread.

The mesquite chicken is the highlight here. Grab one to go and you have an easy weeknight dinner!
