Needed 5 ton of river rock and 2 ton class 2 base for an artificial lawn. I called around and Mountain View Garden Center had the best prices . Delivery was cheap as well. If you want a ' landscape showroom'...there are plenty of places that will provide that experience at 25 - 50%.higher product costs. If you are just looking for rock, mulch, and bark at a fair price...look no further. Despite some negative reviews...everyone at MVGC were friendly and got my material delivered when they said at the price I was quoted. I will surely use them again and recommend them...just know what you want / need beforehand. 5 stars!

Very unreasonable price. They sell sand & stones at 3-4x the price than other garden centers or big box stores. Also they don’t offer fulfillment services.
The guy at front desk can’t even get the numbers correct. They’re trying to sell 5 gallon vs 7.5 gallon stuff for the same price. Maybe that’s their trick of doing business.

I have been to Mountain View Garden Center a few years back and would have highly recommended this place back then. This past week, I had requested a friend to purchase some sand and DG from them in 5g buckets that we had. Since they didn’t know how much these were supposed to cost, they purchased it. Only afterwards, when I saw the total, I figured that this place basically does daylight robbery now. I checked prices with South Bay materials and the total price for what we got was 30% of what my friend paid at MV Garden Center. When we called back, they did not accept returns either. It is possible their bulk prices are not as ridiculous but I would never go back. I don’t normally write reviews but this place doesn’t deserve any business.

FIVE STARS to the staff!!! The staff is highly qualified and would be a great asset to other companies.The Umpa Loompa who is apparently "the guy in charge" in his short pink shorts who's degrading his workers and the customers is absolutely insane. We will bring our business elsewhere.

if i could rate it zero stars i would, to start the lady in the front was very rude and deserves to get taught some respect. (la guerita). then on top of that they made us wait outside for over 30 mins to the point where we just decided to hook up the boogey ourselves. they then made us take it off too “replace it” and to top it all off there hitch didn’t fit on our truck nd they told us “we need a new truck” … no you guys need to figure it out nd not waste people’s time. we lost over an hour of work and i don’t recommend anyone ever going there.

I don’t know how they stay in business with such rude people running the place for so many years. I got tired of their attitude and now drive an extra 20-30 min and sometimes pay higher prices just to get stuff from other suppliers and avoid this place.

EDIT:
I hope the owners or whatever actually see how many bad reviews they have here because of their poor behavior/attitude. Perhaps they should spend some time to look inside themselves and try to figure out why they are so miserable that they feel the need to spread their bad vibes all over. I sincerely do hope they find happiness they so desperately need in their lives.

I really really don’t recommend this place at all. It’s the worst place you can ever come. People on the front desk are horrible. They’re super rude. Same thing with the owner . He’s a really really bad homeowner he should not have this type of company if he’s gonna be so rude he disrespect me really bad, please go some where else if you see this, please believe me go somewhere else. Staff and homeowners are the worst people ever. They don’t know how to control business and attitude and their attitude to customers.

Wow. What a great review/comments system we have here. It sure helps me feel better about my terrible experience there. And I thought I was too sensitive and maybe wrong about my impression about them.

Even though there maybe a few lucky customers got good services from this place, BUT I have to agree with the majority comments about how lousy the service is. The workers there are so unfriendly, rude and not helpful at all. I feel the management is responsible for the workers' bad attitude towards the customers. I have to add a new comment here. The woman owner who was standing nearby did not jump in to help out. She seemed to be so undisturbed by her worker's bad behavior towards the customer. Not enough training and control from the top down. I did not feel welcome and there was minimum offer of help to what I wanted. At least this time my simple questions did not get cursed back like the other customer. Don't go there if you can. Try Lyngso Garden Materials. ALL workers there are helpful and respectful to their customers, besides it is a much bigger and organized place. Worth the drive to San Carlos. I spent my $400 there instead.
